The air smells of paper and wet ink. Along the nearest walls are racks of newspapers, both freshly printed and yellowed with age. In the far corners lie computers, printers, presses, and pads of lined paper.
Alice enters.

She's going a history project on the town in 1923, so she heads to a far shelf and begins researching, taking notes on a spiral notebook.

"What's up?" Emma asks?

"Not much. I'm taking notes for a historical assignment. I want to get a good grade." Alice says.

"You two, don't be ripping my newspapers, ya hear?" Says the shopkeeper.

"What's with all the adults in this town? Schoolwork? B-o-r-I-n-g."

"I know," sighs Alice.

"Are u crinkling my papers?" The grumpy newspaper owner said. "Want any help?"

"No thanks, I'm good," Alice replies assuredly. "I'm leaving."
To Emma she says, "Let's go. I'm done here."

"Yup."
