It makes me cry, thinking about how those children went to school today, some eager to learn, others waiting for recess, but they didn't get to learn, or have recess. They were waiting for christmas, but now they won't get to have one.

My little one is 6 and worry so much for her. My nephew was a a local mall, when shots went off. His sister feels like it is the norm for today's society. So tragically sad. My heart goes out to the medics and all the other services that were on site to save lives, but had no one to work with. The parents, having to go home to decorated houses and empty bedrooms-oh the nightmare of it all.
There were 18 children who died in the school, two who died later at the hospital, and six teachers who died. The gunman also died. He had shot his mother in the face before heading to the school.President Obama's speech is what snapped me into reality with this - before I watched it, it seemed really surreal
This is America. In the constitution it says the goverment is there to protect life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, in that order. But appearantly the right to bear arms come before the lives of 21 chidren and 6 teachers.
The two places that felt the most pain are, Connecticut, and Tucson. It opened an old wound from 1/8/2010
You know, there's something we forgot about. How do their friends and families feel? Some of the most precious people to them are dead. They'll never have happy holidays again. Some of them will be miserible forever. The other children will see dark spots on the floor and they will weep. Think of them.
I say that we set aside AT LEAST a few minutes of each day to remember them, and pray for their family, friends, and classmates.
Also, we aren't survivors. We didn't have to listen to our friend's screams as they were shot and died.
Sorry, I have... issues. When stuff like this happens these are my thoughts.1. OH MY GOD.
2. *internally weeps for hours*
3. Jay. Jay. Jay. Jay. Jay. Jay. Jay. Jay. Jay. Jay.
Currently in the third stage. 3=horrendous nightmares about 3 trillion ways Jay could die.

Why can't people just live with what they have, allthewhile not forcing such terrible things onto families?
I live in Connecticut, and one of my friends, her drama teachers son got shot and killed in it, so its really hard.. I just dont think its fair to anybody for this to have happened.
What has this world come to? What kind a fucking messed up person could do that to innocent, little children? I couldn't believe that something like this could happen to little kids. My heart goes out to all of the families of the now deceased children and teachers.
I am shocked by the fact that someone would do that. I don't know any one who was killed, but all of those little kids...those beautiful kids and adults, who had never lived a full life. It is absolutely terrible.
I was reading a list of the victims and one of the little girls who died was named Josephine.
My little sister is named Josephine.
When I read that I just couldn't stop sobbing. I couldn't imagine how it would feel to lose my little sister and these families don't have to deal with it in theory. They have to deal with it for real, everyday, for the rest of their lives.
Imagine waking up and realizing you didn't have a little girl or boy to get ready for school anymore.
Imagine picking up the phone, and realizing you didn't have a brother or sister or child to call anymore.
Those poor families and those poor children and those poor teachers.
My heart goes out to them all.

The man was insane. He would have killed those children and teachers whether he had a gun or not, because there are millions of other weapons out there.
It's not like someone sold him a gun. People with mental issues are not aloud to own guns in the USA, as you probably know.
You can't take guns away from everyone, just because one man stole his mother's gun and killed twenty-six people. Most people who own a gun know how to act responsibly with it and do.

No need for ANYONE to own an Assault riffle like that one used. It's not for hunting or anything other then for a soldier to carry. Why on Gods earth this women had to own all those firearms I will never know. With that being said if some does have a permit for a hand gun it should be securely locked away with only the owner of them to have access

Basic handguns meant for self defence only are fine. But it's just gone too far for anything else.
This was such a tragic event, I have no idea what I would do if this happened in my home town... So many families are still reeling from their losses.... These kids never had the chance to live, they're never going to get to become a moody emotional teenager like me, or get to experience Prom, their first kiss, falling in love, getting married, having their own kids... My prayers go out to the families, it makes us all realize, probably, that tommrow is not promised, so we should live with no fear and have no regrets to face for the tommrow that may or may not come. We need to live for today and not for tommrow, becasue you never know if there is going to be a tommrow.

I woke that morning so happy to go to school. I smiled at my mommy and daddy as they made me breakfast. Before i knew it it was time for school with my big sister. We both wave goodbye then run out to get the bus. I sit next to my best friend another first grader.
We sit in class together as we wait for out teachers instructions. That's when i hear the noise i will never forget. BANG! My teacher looks petrified but tries to hid it as she tells us to hid in the corner away from the door. I grab my best friends hand and we cower together. That's when he comes into our class. He holds a gun and points it at us. We all plead with him not to shoot us but he begins firing.
I don't rememeber must after that other than i ran from the room. He followed me and tripped me. Now he stands over me poniting the gun in my face. As tears stream my face freely i manage to say one thing "Goodbye" That's when he pulls the trigger blowing my brains out.
I'm in heaven now Mommy its every bit as beautiful as you described. There are a lot of kids from school up here with me. A lot of them out from my class. I wish we could be together again mommy please remember i'm waiting for you. Please tell daddy i did try to live for him i really did but i couldn't the pain was to much. Tell my big sister that i don't hate her like i said i did but rather how much i loved her. I miss you mommy and hope to see you again soon.
“Angels in the Sky”Twenty Angels in the sky…
Young hearts raining in our cries…
Their little souls are safe tonight…
In Gods arms and his protected light…
So many questions with no answers why…
No words can describe this day gone by…
Sleep little children with wings tonight…
God holds your hands from dark to light…
Twenty Angels in the sky…
Young hearts raining in our cries…

All those kids are in heaven.
I doubt that their lord would keep his kingdom out of the celebrations of birthdays, and holidays.
They are probably getting ready for a huge christmas celebration, as we speak.

My mom told me when I came home from school. She was fixing our tree when she said it, and I was brought to tears. I LOVE little kids, particularly in that age group, and to hear that 18 of them were shot and killed...that's 18 futures gone, 18 world changes. may God wrap his arms around the friends and family of the children (and teachers) who were lost and hold them in his grasp forever!
OK This is my personal opinion but when Obama was making his speech and "cried" it was pretty fake. At least in my mind it was. Anyway, THis is so horrible I don't even know how to process it. I just think of all of those kids in Heaven with jesus for christmas and....K I am crying now.

Totally true. I did not see one tear on his face. A please, anyone can put spaces in their sentences and make it sound like they're crying. If I were him, I would have been too sad to speak. I mean for the sake of Frigg, he is a parent. He should have been reduced to tears, with the thought that it could have been any of his children. But that's just my opinion.
