Ashley (readerandwriter) | 75 comments Book number 17 comes out in 2010. Here is the synopsis for the book.

HOUSE RULES is about Jacob Hunt, a teenage boy with Asperger’s Syndrome. He’s hopeless at reading social cues or expressing himself well to others, and like many kids with AS, Jacob has a special focus on one subject – in his case, forensic analysis. He’s always showing up at crime scenes, thanks to the police scanner he keeps in his room, and telling the cops what they need to do…and he’s usually right. But then one day his tutor is found dead, and the police come to question him. All of the hallmark behaviors of Asperger’s – not looking someone in the eye, stimulatory tics and twitches, inappropriate affect – can look a heck of a lot like guilt to law enforcement personnel -- and suddenly, Jacob finds himself accused of murder. HOUSE RULES looks at what it means to be different in our society, how autism affects a family, and how our legal system works well for people who communicate a certain way – but lousy for those who don’t.

Brandi Bryant (brandiheather) It was interesting to hear her speak about her upcomming books! I hate that there is only one per year, but it is always worth the wait. She mentioned that the 2011 book was going to be one that touched on issues about gay rights/abortion/etc.

Can't wait!! :) I love Jodi! :)

Jacqueline115 Thanks for the update on Jodi's future books in the works. What I like about Picoult is that she chooses her topics carefully before writing and is not always so predictable. Unlike Danielle Steele :)

$16.99 A deal for a brand-new hardback!

Grace (graycie) Thanks Glenda, that is a good deal. I buy alot of the new releases from Costco for that reason.

Jaime | 74 comments I just read forty pages at B& N tonight and, while I was very tempted to just buy it, I know it will go on the bestseller list soon and that I will be able to get it for less. They have a 30% coupon now and I could have gotten it for $19 and change. It was really good and I was, as usual, drawn right in. I wish we had a Costco near us!

Jamie | 9 comments I just started this book this week. I have read about 50 pages so far and I really like it. Did any of you finish it yet? What did you think? (Please don't give anything away! haha)

Dara | 145 comments I went to Jodi's book signing last night in Schaumburg/Hoffman Estates, IL. I loveeeeeeee her! I can't wait to get into this book but I have to finish Shutter Island which I am reading now or I will never go back to it. I could have purchased the book cheaper at B&N with my membership but I went ahead and bought it at the signing. Feel like if I don't support Borders when they have these events then they might not continue to have them.

Hi Dara.......I too was at the signing in Schaumburg/Hoffman Estates. This was the 4th year that I have gone to see Jodi. Did you like the event? It is always interesting to hear all the different type of questions that are asked. Loved her response to the change of Sister's Keeper movie.

Donna | 4 comments Jamie, I finished the book and won't post any spoilers but it compelled me to read and read and read. It only gets better and better. She did her research on Asperger Syndrome. There's an article in Minneapolis paper today as she is speaking on Friday here. She interviewed and compiled lots of written work from 6 kids with ASD. Let us know what you think.

She did do her research as she does on every novel and it always shows. This was a very touching novel.
