I'd like to reserve (if they're not claimed first by a Snakes & Ladders finisher):
children-s
contemporary
horror

horror
Although there are still two Snakes & Ladders winners to make their choices, I am going to go ahead and open the thread back up. Just be advised, if one of those last two people pick a shelf that you have reserved, their choice will take precedence. Please only make three reservations at a time.
Thanks
Thanks

Since you already had three choices and one miss from the Snakes & Ladders challenge, I only reserved the first one on this list for you at this time. I believe that is what Tien has done for others on the Freedom Tower.

Does reserving 3 at a time (or, for some of us, fewer), mean that whenever we've read & posted the book for which we reserved the shelf, we get to reserve another one to replace that?
I love that this is a combined effort. Most of the shelves I hate have already been reserved by other people.

That is the way that I plan to run it, Susan. So as soon as you finish and report one, you can go and reserve another.

Me, too. But I'm still waiting for someone to choose manga. :)

LOL, Susan. I second that on Manga. One of my least favorites.
I'm sure there is something obvious I'm missing but why are some shelves knocked off already if reading doesn't start until January?

I might be coerced to do manga. They are such fast reads.

Yes, Lahnii - Group members who finished last year's Snakes & Ladders challenge got to make 5 guesses each and were told the results without reading the book. Just a perk for finishing the challenge. If their guess was a miss, we got to report the shelf as "knocked off", if it was not a miss, then they have to read a book from that shelf after January 1.
Hope that helps. :)

As I have the impression that I'll be hitting a block soon, I already started picking books for each of the recovery tasks. I thought they will all be really difficult but a few of them are not that bad!
I'd like to reserve 2008 , 2009 and vampires , thank you :)

Oh, no! As I read it, when we hit a block we'll be assigned to a particular task. I don't think we'll get to choose from the 10 possibilities. So are you planning all 10, just in case?
In that case, if I hit a block, I should just ask you what you've discovered! (;>)

Done, and I am calling you Karen Booklover, just so that I don't get confused.

You are making the rest of us look bad, lol. Not really. But I could never hope to be as prepared as you are. I am in awe!

Just a couple of housekeeping issues
1. I apologize that I am not on line as much as some people, but I promise to log in at least once each day to check the thread. As of this time, I will post a message telling you what the last post I have updated for is.
2. Please check the master list at the beginning of this thread to see what choices have already been reserved before making your choices. It might be good to also check any posts made after my post telling you what the last post I have updated for is as I will be reserving items in the order that they are posted.
3. The only exception to #2 is in the case of the LAST Snakes & Ladders winner, who has yet to make their initial choices. Their initial 5 choices supersede all others, so once that person has made their choices, I will let you know if it changes any of the choices that have already been reserved.
Thanks

OK, so I picked my first book of the year already and it fits like a million shelves but (of course) doesn't fit the ones I've already requested which I know are safe. Now the question is...which shelf will I pick for it? I think I'll just pick one at random from the first page of the book, LOL! (Yes, I live living dangerously!)
