I think it's clear that people who like multiplayer and highscore beating games would choose Mario. Zelda is more of a half-rpg/oneshot adventure.

Okay. I was gonna say Zelda: Twilight Princess, but they don't have that for the DS.
There are 2 for the DS: Spirit Tracks, and The Phantom Hourglass...those are pretty good.

The DS ones actually didn't get such high ratings... But yes, Twilight Princess is boss!

Anyway Els, if you were going to start you're Zelda gaming career, you should play the best game of the Zelda series and the most famous: Ocarina of Time. You can get it for the N64 (which I doubt you have), the 3DS, or may I recommend, if you want the original feeling, the Wii. You can download it on the Wii Shop Channel for, I think, 1500 Wii Points, which is equal to 15 USD.
