I want to take this opportunity to welcome everybody to this group. I am hoping that we can actually have a meaningful discussion about my book. I know that there might be some questions about my book. As the author, I am well aware of the differing opinions on my book. I know that my book deals with societal issues. I know that religious and political views have played a part in some of the reviews that I have gotten. I have always been one that believes we need to actually discuss issues, instead of just yelling our views at another person.

I am hoping to have a diverse group of people in this group. Although my book is technically listed as a young adult novel, I do want people who are not young adults to be involved in this discussion as well. My book is essentially about teenagers making important life decisions while their parents are absent. By having people who are not teenagers taking part in this discussion, I am hoping to bring the generations together in a productive way. I truly believe that the younger generation can learn something from those who have gone through puberty and survived to tell about it. I also believe that the older generation has forgotten what it is like to be a teen. They also can learn something from listening to another generation.

In this group, you can ask me anything. I will answer everything to the best of my ability. The only way that I would not answer something is if it got too personal. Even in that case I will still answer the question. I just may not answer it to your full satisfaction.

I am expecting that there's going to be differing opinions on my book, its themes, subject matter, etc. I am fine with that. I want the discussion to be considerate of other people's views and ideas.

As an artist, I have always tried to make works that generate discussions to improve society or to help other people. I figured that if I have felt an emotion, then somebody else has, too. Nobody is ever alone. I want people to know this. So while everybody may not have had the same experiences, I want everybody in this group to at least respect one another for the different life experiences we have had. At the end of the day, all we have is our humanity. I think sometimes that we forget this because we become so preoccupied on other things.

So with that said, welcome to the group. Let the questions begin.
