Omg I LOVED THE SONGS THEY PLAYED Hope There A soundtrack for the movie Or is there Already one?
o_O
o_O
I keep thinking I loved the first one, where they sang about what bilbo baggins hates. But then I think the one about the treasure and that stuff is so just… indescribable
IKR I Felt So Weird hearing them songs I love how well they sang
Far over the misty mountains cold To dungeons deep and caverns old
We must away ere break of day
To seek the pale enchanted gold.
The dwarves of yore made mightly spells,
While hammers fell like ringing bells
In places deep, where dark things sleep,
In hollow halls beneath the fells.
For ancient king and elvish lord
There many a gleaming golden hoard
They shaped and wrought, and light they caught
To hide in gems on hilt of sward.
On silver necklaces they strung
The flowering stars, on crowns they hung
The dragon-fire, in twisted wire
They meshed the light of moon and sun.
Far over the misty mountains cold
To dungeouns deep and caverns old
We must away, ere break of day,
To claim our long-forgotten gold.
Goblets they carved there for themselves
And harps of gold; where no man delves
There lay they long, and many a song
Was sung unheard by men or elves.
The pines were roaring on the height,
The winds were moaning in the night,
The fire was red, it flaming spread;
The trees like torches blazed with light.
The bells were ringing in the dale
And men looked up with faces pale;
The dragon's ire more fierce than fire
Laid low their towers and houses frail.
The mountain smoked beneath the moon;
The dwarves, they heard the tramp of doom.
They fled their hall to dying fall
Beneath his feet, beneath the moon.
Far over the misty mountains grim
To dungeons deep and caverns dim
We must away, ere break of day,
To win our harps and gold from him!
The pines were roaring on the height,
The winds were moaning in the night,
The fire was red, it flaming spread;
The trees like torches blazed with light.
The bells were ringing in the dale
And men looked up with faces pale;
The dragon's ire more fierce than fire
Laid low their towers and houses frail.
Adored it. Want to buy it so that I can watch it as many times as possible xD. Check out: hobbitshop.com for awesome souvenirs.
They portrayed Gandolf using the actor for Dumbledore which personally I don't think was a very good idea because even though he's perfect for the role, people will always see him as Dumbledore
Agreed, songs were AWESOME

Except those who have never and will never watch the Harry Potter movies, such as me. I'll never see him as Dumbledore, since I don't even know who that is! :D ^^

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012) = one that you just sawThe Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013) = 2nd one coming out

Ooops sorry :P your post came after I replied ^-^
That is okay! I am glad that you know about it though! I wish we could get every member of this group to go see the last movie made all together!
I loved the Hobbit film and full credit to Peter Jackson! I adored 'the lord of the rings' films (The fellowship of the ring, the two towers and the return of the king) and so I was nervous as to how he could do the hobbit – after such success with the lord of the rings. However, I was SO pleased to have been surprised, for I felt afterwards that the film did exceed all expectations and was absolutely fantastic. The CGI and special affects were incredible, heightened by the fact that I saw this film in 3D and so everything was brought ‘vividly to life’ including the Wargs – which jumped out of the screen at you! Dramatic, intense and exciting I was sat glued to my seat and took in everything of Tolkien’s creation; which was just so magical and heavenly. I was read Tolkien’s work as a child and I listened to my mother read ‘The Hobbit’ to me at bedtime for many years, being one of my favorite stories. I wanted so badly to see the Elves, to explore the Shire and Hobbiton and to visit Bilbo in his comfy Hobbit hole (certainly a lot more welcoming than any house). The Dwarves with their tales and songs are just wonderful, and I so loved how Peter Jackson kept true to the book and included them. Smaug! Oh my goodness, he was so amazing even though all we saw was some smoke! Everything was so realistic and exquisitely detailed, including the epic battle…and how Thorin lost his arm trying to defeat the White Orc. Thorin Oakenshield is…well, he certainly took my breath away and I loved how all the Dwarves were so individual and distinctive. Some did however look a bit like hairy men (sorry!) whilst others were extremely rotund and had obviously eaten too much *coughs* Bombur?! It was also extremely funny and I was sat one minute tense in my seat as a bloodthirsty, scary battle took place and then the next I was laughing out loud at the Dwarves and Bilbo Baggins – especially in certain moments (i.e when he faints, when he rides a pony very ill indeed and in many comments he causally makes throughout their journey).
…I could go on, but I did really love it and now I cannot wait for it to come out on DVD…and to see film 2!!

*coughs* apologies for over enthusiasm, but i could talk about Tolkien all day long and his works...and the LOTR films & the hobbit film!

I agree, I am so glad that Peter Jackson was the director again. I loved how he filmed The Lord of the Rings and I think that it just would not be the same without him as the director. I hate when directors change in a series of films and they change the style of the films around. Although I love the Lord of the Rings I think that the Hobbit might just be my favorite one yet, because it had more humorous parts in it. It was not all serious, as it was in The Lord of the Rings, it had many funny and memorable parts in it that I will be quoting non-stop forever now. :)

Is Peter Jackson going to be the director for the last one too?

It worked perfectly, and i think that was due to not only Peter Jackson but also Martin Freeman as Bilbo (i am not sure if another actor could have played the role so well or done it justice, especially with the humor).

Hurry up and come out of the theatres ... .__.
I just finished watching it minutes ago.It was great! I really liked it.
The scene with the Trolls was my favorite, and I thought Gollum was adorable in this movie. :)
Gandalf was wonderful, as usual, always saving the day. This movie really made me smile a lot.
It was just a really, really magical movie.
I'm happy I finally got to watch it.
Can't wait for the next one.

On Film4 channel yesterday at 9pm, today at 9pm and tommorrow evening they are re-showing the Lord of the Rings films...fellowship, towers and King. They also showed an interview with Peter Jackson on his thoughts on The Hobbit movie and how he enjoyed making the LOTR films too! Great evening entertainment.

:D You did? :) I didn't, though I probably will at the end of all three ^^I. Can't. WAIT. For the Mirkwood spiders. And Smaug. Smaug will be awesome O.O. And the Arkenstone. Ooh, I'm just so excited ... if they wreck any of my favourite scenes I will ... do something :I
I'm excited about the second movie too! And I was thrilled when Bilbo won the MTV best hero award last night. Even though they didn't so much as do a video acceptance speech for him or anything.

Did you take part in the twitter and instagram voting? It was awesome how everyone came together to vote ... we had so many thousands of fans and fandoms on our side :) #Bilbothehero! :D
I did, and one of the neatest things was connecting with so many new twitter followers. (Don't do much with Instagram) They're a fun and loyal fandom, the Ringers. I'm proud to be counted among them!
