Lyra clutched the side of the car, nervous at how fast the car was going. She had only been in one once before, and it hadn't gone above thirty. Aaron probably thought she was a dork.
"no need to be nervous" he said. he was going at about a 100km an hour, which was not very fast for him, yet he was clutching the wheel very tightly, because he himself was nervous about seeing Aspen.
A nervous laugh escaped Lyra's lips, "You saying that to me, or yourself?...Don't worry, I'll be there for you...if I survive the car ride." She mumbled the last line.
"im a good driver" he said. "no need to worry" he said, as he passed a car and left it in the dust.
(what kind of car is it? I couldn't see the picture.)Lyra began clutching the ohmygodbar. She actually looked very cute. "So um, how long have you been driving? Do you get to go out a lot?"
((silver, and expencive......sorry, i don't know what type it is. i suck at cars))
"all the time" he said. "i got my lisence about 4 years ago" he said.
"all the time" he said. "i got my lisence about 4 years ago" he said.
"19" he said. "i was fortunate enough to get my lisence a year early" he said.
"no, my mom need to be driven around, and my dad could not becuase he was always so busy" he said. "and she would not call a taxi or anything because she said that they could be murders in hiding" he added.
Lyra laughed. "Why didn't she get her own license? My brothers Alto and Jaron want to get theirs, but my mother says they'd be a public menace...plus we could never afford a car."
"she is terrified" he said. "she never liked the idea of her me getting a license either, but she want to travel so..... yeah" he added.
"which part of Ilia did you used to live in?" he asked.
"A small provenance ...I actually think it is the smallest. But, it's nice. We don't have many tall buildings, so the town looks like something you'd see in an old book...Are we very far from his house?"((I can just play Aspen. It's not that big a deal; I started the rumor anyway :P ))
((sure :D))
"it's right here" he said, pulling into the drive way.
"it's right here" he said, pulling into the drive way.
"ready" he said as he hopped out of the car.
Before he could take it, Aspen dog came running, and jumped on Aaron and started licking him. "down boy" Aaron said trying to get the big golden reterver off of him.
A little boy, who was about 7 or 8, with dark wavy hair came running out after the dog. "Cool it Benji! Hey I said stop!" He caught up and pulled the dog's green collar, so the dog would get off of the big kids. "I'm sorry about that, he just really likes people." He looked up for the first time and saw who he was talking to. "Prince Aaron!" The kid stood at attention and made a three note whistle sound that caused the dog to do the same. "I'm Archie, my dad's youngest kid. It's an honor to meet you sir. My dad never lets us meet the royal family."Lyra stood slightly behind Aaron and took his hand gently. She was hoping he wouldn’t be annoyed by it, but she had never seen such a large dog. They were almost the same size as the wolves back home. And you were supposed to stay far far away from those.
He held her hand, realizing she was frightened of Benji.
"I can't imagin why" said Aaron, smiling at Archie. "Hey bud, you think you can take us to you dad?" he asked.
"I can't imagin why" said Aaron, smiling at Archie. "Hey bud, you think you can take us to you dad?" he asked.
"Sure!" His blue eyes lit up at being able to do a task for the prince. Archie's eyes were brought out in contrast to his dark hair. He began to move to show them in the house, then stopped suddenly and bowed with his hands pointed towards the house instead. "This way sir, miss." It would have been a perfect etiquette, if he wasn't peaking with one eye.
The house was huge, probably bigger than any building in Lyra’s provenance. When they got into the house they ran into one of Archie’s older siblings, she was probably 11. Her hair was dark, but she had green eyes instead of blue. She scowled at him, “What are you doing dork?” Then she saw the people with him. “Oh my God! Prince Aaron! And you’re with Lyra Carroll, she’s so pretty! Are you gonna pick her?” Lyra blushed and shook her hair, “It’s too early for that. We’re just um…sorta friends.”
Archie was slightly mopping because he was sure he was going to get brushed over for his sister, “This is my sister Amber.”
"Hi" said Aaron. His checks were slightly red because of Amber's comment. "Uhm.....is your dad around?" he asked, tring to avoid the topic of the selection.
Amber looked at Lyra and Aaron holding hands and raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, dad's home. I can take you to him.""Ugh no fair!" Archie yelled, "I was gonna take them to see daddy! I was doing just fine. Wasn't I?" He asked Aaron and Lyra.
Lyra nodded reassuringly and smiled at him. This kid was adorable. She was able to say how great he was when two more kids came down the stairs. One was a boy, and the other a girl. Lyra guessed they were twins by the way they moved together and how close they looked in appearance. Course, that doesn’t always happen with fraternal twins. Unlike the other two kids, they both had straight blonde hair and freckles. They looked 14 and they only slightly resembled Archie by having the same shade of blue eyes. "What's all this noise?" The boy asked.
"Dad's working right now, you have to calm down,” said the girl.
Archie and Amber groaned at the same time. Then the twins saw Lyra and Aaron. The boy bowed and reached out his hand, and the girl did a perfect curtsy. “Hi, we’re Alfie and Angela,” they said together.
Lyra whispered in Aaron’s ear, “Did you know he has so many kids?”
((Um, before I continue, how do you want this to go? Do you want Aspen to be Aaron's dad? Not to be? Have a switched at birth with one of his other kids?))
"no idea" he said. he felt his phone viberate. he turned it off, not wanting to ruin this so called 'moment of truth'.
((it does not matter, but either way, Aaron has to stay the prince, otherwise the selection gets really messed up))
((it does not matter, but either way, Aaron has to stay the prince, otherwise the selection gets really messed up))
Alfie kept his hand out waiting for Prince Aaron to shake it."I don't think he wants to touch you Alfie, I wouldn't," Amber said, a grin playing at the corner of her lips.
Anger flashed in Alfie's eyes, "You'll have to excuse her, your grace, we found her under a bridge."
“Did not you stupid moron!”
“That’s redundant Amber,” Angela said glaring at her.
“Watch your language. Didn’t mom and dad teach you any manners? This is the prince for goodness sake!” Alfie said, hand still outstretched. It was beginning to hurt from holding it up.
Little Archie covered his ears, “You guys are too loud, you’re gonna upset-“ Lyra heard banging noises coming up the stairs from the basement, then the door swung open. “Too late,” finished Archie.
A boy around Lyra and Aaron’s age walked out. His hair was a perfect mess that actually made him look more cool than slob. There was a guitar strapped to his chest hanging at his side. Lyra was startled by his moonlight eyes, they appeared to be closer to silver than grey. They shined bright against his golden skin and dark hair. He wasn’t as tan as Eli, but he was definitely darker than his pale siblings. “What’s going on here?” the boy asked calmly. Lyra got chills from his voice. He spoke in a normal tone, but the effect was immediate, all of the kids froze and stopped talking.
He noticed the Prince and Lyra and nodded his head slightly in their direction; a gesture of respect, but nowhere close to a bow. “Prince Aaron, Miss. Carroll, we weren’t expecting your company today, is something the matter? Are the King and Queen here as well?”
"No my parents are not here. We cam alone. Is your father here?"asked Aaron politly after he shool Alfies hand.
He had not ment any disrespect.
((sory if i made tons of spelling mistakesbut i am holding a flashlight inder the covers and writing rhis on my ereader, so yeah sorry, and by the way, what exacrly do you habe planned?? Oh and also sorry if i dont reply right away, but i have been studuing like crazy for finals. I eeally wanna pass.))

((Honestly, no idea. I told you, I only planned Hayden's storyline out.))The boy looked Aaron directly in the eyes when he spoke. Unlike most people, he didn’t look uncomfortable doing so; his eyes remained steady without fidgeting at all, “He’s in his study, I’ll take you to him.” He placed his hand gently on top of Archie’s head guessing his youngest brother would want to take the Prince himself. However, he had a feeling the Prince hadn’t stopped by for simple chit-chat. Whatever his reason was for being here, it was serious. He took his guitar off and handed it to Archie, “Would you do me a favor and take this downstairs? Be real careful bud, this one’s my favorite.” Archie nodded his head enthusiastically, and took the guitar into the basement; all the while holding it like it was made of glass. Alfie’s eyes flashed with a mixture of anger and jealousy and he quickly stomped up the steps to his room. Angela followed after him saying goodbye for both of them. The only one left was Amber and the eldest sibling held her gaze for a moment letting her know she needed to scram. She gave a slight curtsy and wave before heading to the kitchen for a snack. This left Aaron, Lyra, and the boy who still hadn’t introduced himself.
His eyes drifted to the girl who was with the prince when a brief silence occurred. He could feel heat drifting up his neck at the sight of her. She had to be the most stunning girl he had ever seen. When the girls had first been shown on the weekly report, he hadn’t paid much attention to any of them. He found the whole process outdated, and a poor reflection on the country if they intended to become a world superpower once again. She seemed nervous clinging to Aaron’s hand, like now that they were not surrounded by kids she was sure they’d get into trouble. He held his hand out to her, “I’m Aiden Ledger by the way, I don’t believe we’ve been properly introduced.” Lyra took the hand that wasn’t holding Aaron’s and placed it in Aiden’s outstretched hand. She began to shake it when he pulled it up to his lips and kissed it. Bright red blush colored her cheeks and she resisted the urge to hide against Aaron’s shoulder. Aiden was transfixed by her different colored eyes, never noticing them before. Idly he thought about soft her skin was. “This way.”
Aiden led them down several different hallways, and through several different rooms. Lyra noticed there was something odd about the house; the walls didn’t seem to line up. They entered into what appeared to be an entertainment center, with a vast collection of movies, multiple stereos, a 150 inch plasma TV, and every game system that had come out in the last five years. Aiden pulled out three movies from the second to the top shelf, and a section of a wall opened up. Lyra’s mouth dropped open in shock. “My father is right down this hallway, for obvious reasons that are connected to his job, he tries to keep his study…a little hard to find. I’m not sure why you’re here Prince Aaron, but you might want to talk to my father alone. I would be more than happy to keep Miss Carroll company while she waits; she’ll be save with me.”
"of course thank you" said Aaron. "I'll try to make this quick" he said. He went down the hall to Aspens study. he stopped in front of the door. i can do this he thought. he knocked on the door and waited. this is it. the moment of truth.
Aspen looked up from the maps he was studying when he heard a knocking sound. Who could that be? The kids usually just barge in. He stood up and said, “Enter.” His fingers itched towards the top drawer of his desk where his gun was. Not yet. In all probability they’re friendly.
Aaron opened the door. he gave an ever so slight smile. you could tell he was nervouse.
Aiden watched Prince Aaron walk down the length of the secret hallway, then he nudged his head to the side; subtly suggesting to Lyra they wait elsewhere. Not being familiar with the house, Lyra waited for Aiden to direct where he wanted to go. She felt nervous being left alone with a strange boy that she had just met, but Aaron clearly wanted to face his fears alone. Lyra frowned wondering what that meant for their relationship. Her parents always did and decided everything together. Maybe relying on each other would grow with time.Lyra was following Aiden somewhat blindly, more focused on Aaron than where she was. This caused her to run straight into Aiden’s back. She hit him with enough force that she would have fallen backwards, but he swiftly put his arm around her waist and held her up. Aiden didn’t mind the contact. Unbeknownst to Lyra, Aiden was thrilled to be alone with her. He smiled coyly at her, amusement dancing in his eyes at her expression. Deep blush colored her face once again, and she looked like she might faint.
“Th-thank you,” gasped Lyra.
“You’re welcome,” said Aiden in Lyra’s ear, his breath hot on her cheek.
She attempted to untangle herself from Aiden as smoothly as possible, all the while turning her head away from him. He smells like honey. Honey and apples. Aiden was clouding Lyra’s thoughts, a feeling she wasn’t particularly fond of. She looked around the room to distract herself. It was a sun room. All the walls were windows and there was a fan hanging from the ceiling. It appeared to have a leaf pattern on the blades. The floor was a soft white carpet, Lyra could tell through her shoes, and all the furniture was wicker and painted white. There were tropical patterns on the cushions of the furniture.
“Wow, this is nice.”
Aiden moved next to her and nodded his head, “It’s one of my favorite rooms in the house…So, may I call you Lyra?”
Lyra’s brow rumpled in confusion, “Of course.”
“Thank you. Miss Carroll is much too formal for my liking.”
Lyra wasn’t sure if she was comfortable with that comment, something about the way he said it. Aiden motioned towards the couch. “Please, sit.”
She quickly obeyed and sat down, startled when he sat down only a cushion away from her, rather than on one of the chairs. Aiden draped his arm along the back of the couch, his fingers inches from Lyra’s face. She was briefly reminded of how his arm felt around her; his arm was so strong. Lyra could see his muscles through his navy shirt. All of his clothes were very fitting, not too tight, but not too baggy. Her mother would approve. When Alto and Jaron were 13, they got in the habit of wearing their pants below their boxers. Lyra’s mother actually stapled their underwear to their pants for a week till they broke the custom. A smile spread across her lips at the memory.
“You have a beautiful smile,” Aiden said… That made it go away quickly. Aaron hurry up, this boy is making me nervous. And I’m nervous enough normally.
"Prince Aaron? What are you doing here?" The sight of America's son brought conflicting emotions in him.
"Im here to find some thing out" he said. letting that hang in the air, to see how Aspen would react.
Aspen ran through possible things Aaron could possibly want to know so badly that he actually drove to his house. "Okay? Would you like to sit?" Aspen sat down in his chair, knowing he always took news best sitting down. He still hadn't changed much since his youth, except maybe more of a defined jaw. Of all his children, Archie resembled him the most. Except in the eyes.
“Um thank you,” Lyra said, trying to avoid his piercing gaze. She didn’t understand how Aiden could stare at people so intently. Looking people in the eye always made her nervous, but Aiden gazed at her like he was seeing the depths of her soul. That was an incredibly cheesy thought, but it was so intense she couldn’t think of any other way to describe it. She found it strange that he was so comfortable staring at people when his eyes were almost as unique as hers.Aiden tilted his head to the side, “You always this nervous? Don’t worry, I don’t bite…unless you’re into that sort of thing.” He smiled at his own joke, enjoying it even more when from the neck up Lyra burned red.
"are you my biological father" he asked. plain and simple.
"are you my biological father" said Aaron, slower than before, and with enough authority to make a lion want to give up its lunch. A lot like Maxon if you really thought about it.
Aspen glowered at him, not at all appreciating his tone."I should punch you, you little ungrateful brat. Do you have any idea what you are implying? Do you have any respect for your mother at all?"
"You can't punch me unless you want to be arrested. i now she selpt with you" he said. "everyone knows" he said. "now, are you my biological father?" he asked.
For a moment, all Aspen did was stare at Aaron. Then a smile broke out on his face, one that was similar to what first attracted Aaron's mother to him. Except, it was slightly off. Faster than Aaron could react mentally or physically, Aspen got up and punched Aaron in the face so hard he was thrown back into a bookcase. He would definitely be getting a black eye. Aspen then calmly walked over and picked Aaron up by his collar. Looking at him with only inches from his face he said, “I think your mother and father would disagree about arresting me.” He tightened his grip, “And your mother and I did no such thing. She is the very definition of a proper woman. For you to put her virtue in question deserves a severe beating. One I am unfortunately unable to give you because I respect your parents too much.” Aspen hauled Aaron up and threw him into the chair he had been sitting in previously. “Sit. I need to make a phone call.” He pulled out his cell phone, “Hello, America. I believe you and Maxon would be very interested in who is currently sitting in my study.”
Aaron growled. He now hated this man. be prayed to god that he was not his biological father. "you will pay for that" he muttered.
