Chelsea (theycallmebookworm) | 1955 comments 3 of my favourite heroines are:

Katsa, Graceling (Graceling Realm, #1) by Kristin Cashore Kristin Cashore
Katsa is the first heroine I really admired and is my first fav heroine. She also comes from my fourite genre historical-fantasy (a hybrid of my 2 favourite genres). She is totally kick-butt and is an example of not needing a knight in shining armour (although she does have one <3 Po <3 ).

Katniss, The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games #1) by Suzanne Collins Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, #3) by Suzanne Collins Suzanne Collins
Katniss, is one of my favourite heroines. It's a no-brainer. You already know how great she is. She is also a favourite heroine of many other people.

Isme, Grave Mercy (His Fair Assassin, #1) by R.L. LaFevers R.L. LaFevers
Isme is an assasin nun, how awesome is that !?! Well it is much better than it sounds. Her character is so strong and brave... she also gets the guy <3.

Nikki Hoehne (nikkirajaramlol) | 315 comments Tiger's Curse (The Tiger Saga, #1) by Colleen Houck Tiger's Quest (The Tiger Saga, #2) by Colleen Houck Tiger's Voyage (The Tiger Saga, #3) by Colleen Houck Tiger's Destiny (The Tiger Saga, #4) by Colleen Houck Kelsey is my absolute favorite heroine! Shes very selfless and did i mention awesome!? She has lightening power and can kick some serious butt!! How awesome is that!?

Eugenia (Genie In A Book) (genie-inabook) Rosie Black from The Rosie Black Chronicles
She is someone who isn't afraid to get into the action!
Genesis (The Rosie Black Chronicles, #1) by Lara Morgan Equinox (The Rosie Black Chronicles, #2) by Lara Morgan Dark Star (The Rosie Black Chronicles, # 3) by Lara Morgan

message 4: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Some of my favorite heroines. . .

Katsa from Graceling (Graceling Realm, #1) by Kristin Cashore

Gemma from A Great and Terrible Beauty (Gemma Doyle, #1) by Libba Bray

Eona from Eon Dragoneye Reborn (Eon, #1) by Alison Goodman

message 5: by Trip (last edited Jan 26, 2013 03:48AM) (new)

Trip (shardsofromance) Caution/Kitty from Blink & Caution by Tim Wynne-Jones , she goes through a load of rough times and yet is still able to bounce back.

Aria from Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1) by Veronica Rossi don't ask me why I've just always thought she was a great heroine.

Claire and Eve from Glass Houses (The Morganville Vampires, #1) by Rachel Caine [All of the books in series except most recent one since haven't read yet] What can I say they both develop through the book, where Claire at first allowed others to walk over her she now fights back and is usually the first into battle. Eve has always been high on my list from her outfits to her comebacks she's simply awesome.

Isme from Grave Mercy (His Fair Assassin, #1) by R.L. LaFevers although yet to finish, she's been clearly a favourite since the start.

Jill from Steel by Carrie Vaughn The ending was disappointing considering she ended up without the guy, but still she was a pirate and could sword fight what more can I ask for?

message 6: by Sarah (last edited Jan 30, 2013 10:29AM) (new)

Sarah (Oceanwhisper) | 39 comments My main ones are Raisa from The Seven Realms Trilogy The Demon King (Seven Realms, #1) by Cinda Williams Chima as she is a true damsel who saves herself from distress! She is also very compassionate and secretly helps her poor in the city against her mother, the queens, will. She does what she believes is right and always looks confident. I <333 her!

message 7: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth | 2466 comments Rose from Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead
clary from City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare
and this is a new one I just read and loved Kate from times twisted arrow if you have not read this book i am telling you now it is awesome Kate pretty much has to do everything alone she kicks butt and figures out what needs done and saves everyone even the people she didn't know were part of her life

message 8: by Rysa (new)

Rysa Walker (rysawalker) | 95 comments Time's Twisted Arrow (The Chronos Files, #1) by Rysa Walker I'm delighted that you think Kate kicks butt, Elizabeth. I'm definitely not a fan of wimpy heroines, especially the ones that don't even use their "mental muscles," so I wanted to be sure that Kate didn't fall into that category! :)

she doesn't at all I just read the book not to long ago and I'm am having trouble finding something else to read she is awesome she took acid to the face thats a new one and she wasn't even sure what it was and she gives up the love of her life possibly to save the rest of her family and I don't even know if she's positive which one is the love of her life yet with mister mystery showing up and taking her to heal she is getting to tops in my book and might even make it there after I think 5 book there is just more time with rose and clary but kate is without a doubt kick butt in her own rights

message 10: by kirstin ✿ (new)

kirstin ✿ (shoutohdoroki) I loved Hermione Granger, Annabeth Chase, and Katniss Everdeen.

But my top one is Penryn Young from Angelfall. She's a combination of Hermione and Annabeth and Katniss. Penryn is a kick-ass heroine with a great sense of humor.

If you haven't read her yet, I suggest you read it now. She's even better than Katniss IMO.

Oh, yes! I think Katniss is considered as the best heroine of all. Well, not everyone but almost.

About Penryn, as I said, it's just in my opinion. But Penryn is much fun to read. Trust me. Her personality is more likeable and even though she kicks ass, you can still see in her the traits of a normal teenager: self-consciousness, the ability to get flustered when he's around a gorgeous angel.

Read it, pretty please? :)))

I'm currently reading it. I'm on chapter 7, I think, I still can't connect with her. But I like her voice. Though not as much as I liked Katniss's. :)
