gertt wrote: ""Virgins"....Dangerous Women anthology??? Is this by Diana Galbaldon?"Yes! It will be about Jamie and Ian's young manhood (I think, since I haven't read any of the excerpts she's been posting on her blog).
I loved her comment on the Dangerous Women anthology - when - when George finishes writing his contribution...lol! that is why I haven't start the Songs of fire and ice books - I can only deal with one huge incomplete series at a time and DG takes precedence

Thanks for posting the link! I went off of the list DG has in A Trail of Fire, because I couldn't find it on her website. The list in ATOF isn't complete so I wanted to double-check my list. I put "A Leaf on the Wind..." and "The Space Between" before WIMOHB since presumably they can be read before #8 since it isn't out yet.
Jamie and Ian are mercenaries in France in "Virgins." The anthology was supposed to come out last year but, like Dee mentioned, George is always behind schedule.
You don't have to read the LJG book in order to read the Outlander series. Read only 2 .. One being then Scottish Prisioner.
Glad I decided to check this discussion string! I'm almost done DoA and loving Lord John more with each passing book. I was wondering when and where his books fit in. I might take a Jamie & Claire break after DoA to read about Lord John.
I didn't care for the LJG books except Scottish Prisoner. A lot of people love them though and get so much more out of the story for having read them. Enjoy your Jamie and Claire break.

If you back up on this thread to message #5 there is a link to the order for the Lord John series. I would also recommend reading
before reading Outlander #7
Hope this helps :D
Does anyone know of one book that does a general re-cap of the series? (or a link)? I don't think my eyes will let me read all of them again.

The library had all the audio books and ebooks available too, and even the TV show's DVD. Check your local library and save some money and your eyes.
I was going to read all the big books and then go do the Lord John books. Anyone violently disagree with that plan or think it's a bad idea for any reason?
Yes. That's what I've done too. It works fine. The LJG ones just fill in some gaps and are fine to read after the main books.
Katie wrote: "Loved The Lord John books. They really made me love him all that much more :)"I agree!
Below is a reading order list I typed up for myself. I listen and re-listen to all of these books so much and wanted to listen to them in chronological order. If you haven’t done that yet give it a try. It’s a fun way to follow the whole world Diana created. Happy re-reading or listening!OUTLANDER BOOKS ORDER

Nice list. I’m planning on rereading and the first time I didn’t find the lord John books until I was well beyond where they fall chronological. I think I’m going to follow your list for my reread.
