Little Bee has anyone read this? a friend recently recommend this author.

i haven't read or heard anything about this fellow patrick. i know you gave us a link but can you tell us a little more? what's the writing like? is it meta, magically real, modernist, mickey mouse? :)

i haven't read either of his novels... just heard of the guy, like 2 days ago... friend sent me the link i shared with y'all. i am enjoying his book tour travel diary on his blog but haven't gotten much farther than that yet...

. . .didn't chris cleave write incendiary? . . . british guy? . . . if so, i read that a few years back and it was really good (name drop warning: stone gossard of pearl jam actually gave it to me-- he also turned me onto martin amis-- good to know that there's still literate rock stars out there!) . . . so is this the same guy?

Tracy | 23 comments So did any of you read Little Bee? I read it, quite good. Although with so many hugely talented African writers out there it is frustrating to see a story written by a British guy get so much play. So as balance I also recommend A Half of A yellow Sun. Amazing if heartbreaking book. Little Bee is heartbreaking too, so there is some balance there :)
