Okay, I'm getting ready for my next display at the library, and I'm looking for good biographies. I don't read a ton of biographies, so I tend to go by cover and pick people that I am interested in as subject matter, but I am looking to broaden my horizons in this genre. Help me out, Oly readers!

I can't remember the name of the book, but Gary Paulsen, author of YA books released a autobiography. It was pretty amazing reading.

One of my favorite bios is The Prize Winner of Definace Ohio, by Terry Ryan. Ms. Ryan writes about how her Mom was a marvel with jingle contests, drawings, etc. in the 1950s. With her earnings, she always kept the family of 10 afloat.

Another good one with a Pacific Northwest twist is Wild Bill, The Legand and Life of William O. Douglas by Bruce Murphey. The bio written by Doughlas, Of Men and Mountains is also very good, however there is some speculation that Douglas,um,embellished quite a bit.

I love bio's! Three that I read this past year all geared for teens are- Andy Warhol: pop art painter by Rubin, e.e. cummings: a poet's life by Reef, and Viktor Frankl: a life worth living by Redsan.

Grown ups into children's lit may enjoy Mary Poppins she wrote: the life of P.L. Travers by Lawson.

Biographies I've read and enjoyed in the past year include "I Am Not Myself These Days" by Josh Kilmer-Purcell, "Dry" by Augusten Burroughs (anything by Augusten Burroughs, actually, but I really loved this book about his recovery from alcoholism and addiction), and "Everything I'm Cracked Up to Be: a Rock and Roll Fairytale" by Boston musician Jen Trynin.
