The book i have read for ssr are two book The Absolutely True Diary of An Indian and currently i am reading the book called the Pact i am page 239.this book is about how 3 friends become successful by not being influenced by their bad surrounding. the lesson they are trying to teach in this story is to always be above the influence and do your best even around your surroundings. now that i start reading more for ssr i have started enjoying ssr because i want to read my book and find more interesting thing about it.
There are three books I've read so far this year that include, The Hunger Games: Mocking Jay, Push, and currently The Corn Raid and I am on page 6/142. Mocking Jay tought me that everything isn't what it seems that you should keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Push tought me how to keep moving on and never give up no matter what happens to just live life to the fullest because it can be altered in both a good and bad way. The Corn Raid is about an indentured little boy and so far the only lesson that it has given me is to not leave your valuables around especially when you know there are thievs around, thievs that don't particually like you and think you stole their land like the little indian boy the stole the english boy's tool when he was picking tabacco.
The books i have read are Rangers apprentice 1 and Rangers apprentice 2 I am Currently readin rangers apprentice 3 Page 170/266. The first book taught me that you shouldnt be scared, to face your fears the second bok taught me to follow your instincts and do what feels right. the third book is teaching me to stick together dont lose your friends because they can always help. I do enjoy independant reading and i have sice the beginning of the year i am reading books that i enjoy and its quiet. I believe that my reading skills have increased a bit. None of the books have substantially changed me, but it did help me a little bit seeing what just a few people might be able to do.
The book i read was blood trail & i am currently reading blueford high : blood is thicker. Blood Trail taught me that youu never can know whats hiding in tge dark until it comes out in the light & that everyone even family can be a victim of a crime to others that are close to them so you cant really put your trust in to anyone but your self. The book i am currently reading ( Blueford High : Blood Is Thicker ) i am on page 16/125 so far i havent really learned anything from this book beause i just started reading it & i do kind of like ssr now since the beginning of the year but jusf a little bit , but i think my reading skills have actually gotten much better within the pass few months
Oh & both of my books have changed me a little towrds how people think in the world & making me keep my eyes open when im around certian people to make sure my gaurd is never down...
The books i have read so far this year are Forged By Fire, and Bud Not Buddy, and Somewhere In The Darkness which i just started.Im on page 7 out of 168. Some things that i have learned from Forged By Fire is Protect your loved ones, getting intoxicated isnt worth it, and dont let people get to you.Somethings i learned from Bud Not Buddy is, sometimes you have to be independent, and you can turn a bad situation into a good one.The Experience im having with SSR is still the same i like it as long as my book is interesting then i will read but soometimes i still might just act like im reading..Yes i do think my reading skills have improved i always have been a good reader verbally but as far as reading something and picturing it in my mind has gotten better. The major one that has a impact on me is - you can turn a bad situation into a good one
THE BOOK THAT I AM READING NOW IS GATHERING BLUE BY LOIS LOWRY WHICH IS THE SEQUAL OF THE GIVER AND BY THE WAY I FINISHED THE GIVER.I AM ON PAGE 32 AND I REALLY DONT GET THIS ONE BUT IM STILL LOOKING FORWARD TO THE REST OF THE BOOK. I AM LEARNING THAT I READ MORE BECAUSE OF SSR AND I THINK THATS A GOOD THING BECAUSE IT HELPS COMPREHEND THINGS EASIER IN ENGLISH CLASS.ALSO I THINK I HAVE IMPROVED MY GRADE THIS SEMESTER BECAUSE OF ME READING A LITTLE MORE. SSR IS JUST HELPING ME UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE TO READ MORE BECAUSE READING IS APART OF LIFE AND THIS BOOK IS TEACHING ME ABOUT A GIRL THAT IS BEING BULLIED AND BEING TREATED UNFAIRLY SINCE HER MOTHER PASSED AWAY.
Ive read. The Soloist, Please Dont Laugh at me The Coldest Winter Ever and currently Prep. Im on page 88/ 406. From the soloist i learned that sometimes in a friendship doing stuff for others and seeing their excitement will make u so grateful and hapoy even tho u get nothn in return. Please.dont laugh at me.showed me.the foolishness of a child and how as you get older you mature and want to make dat wrong right! Preop is that life of teenage drama and events that i can relate to on some points. But A STory that changed my, well had an affect was Coldest Winter Ever. It was soo deep and made me see the world as its true self and people who are in the streets many cant handle but stay because of no choice.,ive realky learnef that the, things i go through in life aint worser then the main character, Winter's
The books that I read for SSR are The Gates of Paradise and I am currently reading The American Hobbit. I am on page 29/138. Since I'm not finished reading The American Hobbit, the life lessons will be from the other book I read, The Gates of Paradise. One thing that I've learned is that you cant be too sure of your family. In the book, Anne stayed with her grandfather who was a crazy, old man that believed that Anne was his wife who died a long time ago. Another thing that i learned is there is no place like home. Anne went to Tatterton Manor and it wasn't what she expected, making here home sick. I also learned to always listen to your parents. In the beginning of the story, Anne was longing to go to Tatterton Manor, but her mom, Heaven, refused of letting her go or even telling her much information about the things that were there. To be honest, I enjoy reading as much as I did at the beginning of the year. I think my reading skills has improved because of the higher level book I'm reading. The books that I have read had very little impact on me. They give me morals and I remember them and use them sometimes.
The book I have read for SSR so far is Storm Chasers and I’m currently reading The Resisters: Sterling Squadron and I am on page 99 of 307. So far my books have taught me that if you want to get stuff done you must be proactive and you might have to break a few rules along the way. For example in my current book they need new recruits to fly there “planes” but can’t find any that can control them so the main character Ethan decided that they can get people from a restricted area but the chief says it’s too dangerous but Ethan goes ahead with his plan anyway. I don’t know what happens next but it’s next in my book. My SSR has made me like reading a little more than before SSR.
I am on my second book. First I read Kaffir Boy. Now I am reading Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. I am on page 167/200 & something. The main character (Brian) is alone in the woods after his plane crashed when he was on his way to his dad's house. He has never been in the woods before & he's been "spoon fed" for most of his life. After a rough first week alone, Brian realizes that he has to teach his self in order to survive & once he learns that, the results will be better. This made me realize the importance of independence, self confidence & self awareness. If you lack these characteristics, achieving success will be nearly impossible.
The two books i read so far in SSR of this year is Vampire Hunter D Raiser of Gales and Demon DeathChash. The book i am currently reading now is Vampire Hunter D DeathChase Vol.2 on page.70 out of 210 pages. In this book Nobles(Vampires) now capture adults such as this one Vampire named mayerlying abducted an elder's daughter of the village and now the elder hires the main character Hunter D to save his daughter,so far in SSR independent reading is pretty awesome and it really improve my skills in reading. There is no major impact on me in any of the books i read.
I have read one book this year for SSR , it is Stolen by Lucy Christopher .i am on page 268 out of 299 pages. One Thing i hsve learned from this book is to relize and respect the beauty of nature. Another thig i have learned would be to never judge a book by its cover because your felling about a person can change once you get to know them. Lastly i learned that you should never talk to strangers at airports ! Gemma was kiddnapped when she talked to a stranger at an airport and taken half way across the world. My Experience with SSR Has Been Good I Think My Reading Skills have improved a little but i done like reading that much.
The book that I have been reading is " Moby Dick". I am on page something out of 698. I do know that I am close to being about halfway through the book finally. So that bet that I made with everyone is pretty much done for, and of course, I'm not buying anyone lunch! Anyway, three things that I've learned from this book is 1) Never let your prejudgment of someone be your final judgment on the person they are before getting to know them. 2) Always be open to new friendships. 3) Sometimes going on an adventure means not knowing your future. Moby Dick really hasn't had a major impact on me but I actually do enjoy reading this book more than I did at the beginning of the year. By the way, I do hope to finish Moby Dick by my dad's birthday which is Jan. 24th.
I have read 2 books and Muhammad Ali rap, Al's the killer lunch lady and , my book I am currently reading is al 's revenge I am on page 125 of 137 (almost done) one thing I learned from my book Ali's rap is to speak what's on your mind. Muhammad Ali never kept his mouth shut that's one reason why he is so succsesful. Than I read Al's killer lunch lady, this book taught me never judge a book by its cover. Not because of the story but when I seen the book I thought it was perfect because the cover looked cool. But the book was lame. Than the book I'm reading now is Al's revenge and it teaches me to stay honest because al lies a lot and he keeps trying to patch them up. In my ssr experience I have enjoyed it a lot because my reading skills have Improved and Ali's rap has impacted me as well
During SSR so far this year I have finished one full book, "Code Orange." I am now on my second book curently reading "Forever" by Judy Blume. In this book I am on page 84/220. From the book "Code Ornage" I have learned interesting facts about the disease Small Pox. I have learned that this killed many people a long time ago and was a big problem. I also learned that it is not really around anymore but used to be very popular. I now also know that you should not assume things so easily such as the main character did, thinking he had small pox because he touched a infected scab. In the book I am reading, "Forever" it is about a girl in a relationship with a boy. From this I have learned that you need to watch the things you do, stay strong and protect yourself. You should not do anything stupied with someone that you are going to regret later and you need to be able to say no under pressure no matter how hard it is. The more further I get in the book, I will learn new things. So far this year, I have really enjoyed independent reading! I love reading books that I am able to enjoy and make time throughout the school day to read it. At first, I didnt like it because I picked a book I really didnt enjoy, but now I like reading and SSR way more because I enjoy the book I am currently reading a lot! I also think that I have improved with reading! The book "Forever" has made a impact on me even though I am not finished yet. I say this because every girl can relate to it and it involves real life problems that everyone is going to go through. This book makes me never want to put it down! Sorry this is late, I couldnt get my internet connection to work!
I read witches of bourbon street and i am currently starting hidden. From witches of bourbon its all about witchcraft and demons. The only really life lessons i can get from this book is to not mess with witchcraft or the spiritual world, because in the end, it will turn out bad.
i have read two books so far. Please stop laughing at me and worst enemies/ best friends (143/212).The life lessons that i learned from both books were that you should never judge a person by there looks. you never know the would just might be your best friend. and that you should never judge someone because you dont know what there going though to be judging them for no reason. sometimes i like reading for ssr because i hate reading but its going good so far.
I am currently reading twilight by Stephenie Meyer and I have learned that if there is something worth fighting and dying for, then it is worth saving. In this case of fiction, it is love and conquering all that come in the way. Bella is unconditionally in love with a vampire and she feels that his immortality will interfere with them being in love forever. I have seen all of the twilight saga movies and thought they all have the same main idea, they are both extremely different. Parts in the book were more detailed and had more description and those little parts couldn't make it to the movie because the director had to keep up the pace. All in all, so far the book has more detail than the movie and I have learned that if there is something in this world worth dying for, then it should be saved.
Since the beginning of SSR I have read a total of 2 books first being “Stolen” by Lucy Christopher and my current book “A Total Waste of Makeup”, by Kim Gruenenfelder. I am currently at page 97 out of 359. This book is mainly originated for females. This is a non-fiction book that gives its audience advice they can use in the real world, throughout the book. In addition I like to say that I have learned a few life lessons as I read. For example, “Don’t ever be afraid to be alone”, was one of the lessons said in the book that uplifted my confidence in many ways. My experience during SSR up to this point is very pleasant mostly because I love the book I’m reading, which make it hard to put down the book when those 15 minutes are up. Yes, I believe my reading skills have gone up and yes my book has made a major impact in me.
My first book that i read was " City of Ember" i dont exactly remember how many pages there were in the book but im finish. My current book is "The Pigman" there are a total of about 168 pages in this book im on page 37. Some things that I have learnt from The City of Ember is if you want to do something nothing should stop you. The book was ok it wasn't the best book i read but it is a interesting book and it makes you want to read more and see what is going to happen next. The book im reading now I dont really is ok its kind of confusing though like each chapter there is a different point of view of on the chapter or someone else is telling their story. Overall this book is interesting and I can't really connect to the story as much as the last book i read. My SSR experience has been good I like reading but sometimes i get bored, overall everything is good.
