Rick Riordan is an amazing writer but these books aren't grabbing me like the others he has written. I want to be wowed in the first chapter enough so that I won't give up. I know he can do it :)

I hope he does, but like in the PJ series, he comes up with a new major conflict for that individual book. I agree that if he drags out the story-line it will get boring- but I love the characters.

Me too, but I want to know what happens! That is the problem with series. You want them to end so you know what happens, but you don't want them to end because you like them so much!

I know :( All authors seem to think that without a cliff hanger, we wouldn't read any more of their books.

I've actually read a book without a cliff hanger. I can't remember who wrote it though.....

Everyone has been posting the first page of the HOH that was found in the Son of Sobek. I have already read it and it seems the characters are already being attacked. I can give you guys a link to it if you'd like.

That is where I am at...they definitely have some problems, but they have been through a lot together.

I'm sure for the sake of selling more books, he'll have them get in some sort of fight and then make up and be closer than before.

Yeah, that's what most book series tend to do. I wish more authors would change that up. It would make them a lot more interesting!

Yeah. Especially when someone gets a new idea and then a bunch of other authors make books almost just like it. For instance, I have never read the Twilight series, but after that series came out, almost every new book was about vampires.

I'm super excited just to have some new Percy Jackson stuff come out- this is one of this series that you have to wait for forever for something new, book or movie. :)

Totally, and rick kind of promised for more spoilers in the end of september...and OMG just two months left :D
