The weather here in NSW has been in the mid to high C30's (95F) but its been so, so dry. So tomorrow they've declared a Catastrophic Fire Warning and 43C (105F). Not looking forward to it, at all.
The town in the 1st pic is part of Hobart, cap of Tassie, so the fires were pretty close.I think the whole country could do with some good rain :)
Well, its 6.30pm and still 40C outside, got as high as 42C. Luckily, no fires anywhere near me... phew ....
Well, there are now 140 fires across NSW, 30 uncontained, plenty more in VIC and Tassie is still burning.Quite a few more houses lost, still no confirmed db so that is something, but lots of sheep & cattle have gone.
Well we had 2 days of decent temps - 29C (85F), today, Friday is 40C (104F) & tomorrow is predicted to be 45C (113F). Next week is looking like mid to high 30's.Bushfires are still going, though the 2 days at the lower temp were a godsend. Though lots of farms, homes, stock & bush burnt, thankfully still no lives lost :)
And some people don't believe in Climate Change. *shakes fist*
Well, since I last posted QLD & northern NSW are having major floods, some fires are still burning in VIC and we've had some freaky hot weather & wild surf. Leftover from Cyclone Oswald probably.
So Bushfire season started again with a bang yesterday, not sure yet but looks like 200 homes lost. One death from a suspected heart attack - does that count?

These photos are just the Blue Mtns fires and their impact on Sydney. Sadly there are fires to the nth & sth of Sydney as well.
Wow! Definitely not your typical pic of the opera house, yah? Scarey. Any closer to putting them out? Stay safe!
We had a burnt gumleaf, ash from the fire, in our front yard this morning. I'm sure there were more but I didn't go looking. Fire has now gone into Megalong & Grose Valleys, so inaccessible, but at least no one lives there. Could be months for those fires to be put out. Still fire threatening homes though. No more loss of life which is excellent.

Eek. Hope the poor tree is the only loss ya'll suffer.
Sadly I was referring to an older gentleman who suffered a heart attack.Authorities have now confirmed 193 homes gone & over a hundred more damaged, in just the one fire, in just the one day. And that fire is still ongoing. Then there are the rest of the fires. Its gonna be a bad one.

I've travelled through most of where the fire has just wiped out whole towns.
Thankfully it looks like no loss of life so far.
