I have decided to combine it with another challenge of reading a book from every letter of the alphabet (first name of title)-got off to a dodgy start, but will try and keep them in order after my current read of:3) Breathless-Louise Marley
7) Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brainby Oliver Sacks8)Notes from an Exhibition byPatrick Gale
9) Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
10)The Merde Factor by Stephen Clarke
11)Snowdrops by A.D. Miller
12) To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
13) Mr. S: My Life with Frank Sinatra by George Jacobs
14)The Fever Tree by Jennifer McVeigh
Given up on the alphabet challenge as it was ruining my enjoyment of being able to read books when I wanted to!

That's the bad side of those types of plans: it takes away all the serendipity of reading. On the one hand, it's kind of fun having weird challenges and goals, and you never have to decide what to read next; on the other hand, you never GET to decide what to read next! And any book you're craving, well, unless it properly falls in the challenge/plan, it'll have to wait until another year.

Absolutely - I enjoyed it for organising my reading list, but have not been great at sticking to it; I enjoy reading new books and recommended books too much. It's no fun saying to someone "sounds like I'd really enjoy that, but will have to wait til I've got to Z before I can start it!"

hehehe... I've had to do that. Not just because I had a challenge or plan going at the time, but also because my to-read lists are so long. If someone tells me they just read a great book or if they give me a book, I tend to say, "Ooh, that sounds really interesting, but I'll tell you right now, I might not get around to it for a few years." :D

16)The Secret Keeper by Kate MortonLoving this so far. I have really enjoyed all of Kate Morton's books (though have yet to read The Distant Hours so may read that next!)
17) The Prisoner of HeavenPart of the Cemetery of Forgotten Books series by Carlos Ruiz Zafón; I absolutely loved this book - and the whole series so far. Apparently there is one final book to finish it all off and wrap up the mystery of the cemetery of forgotten books - I, for one, cannot wait!
28) John Grisham - The Racketeer29) Kathy Reichs - Devil Bones
I'm really getting into the Kathy reichs books (I love the TV series Bones!), but I started with the first and them jumped to a much later one - so am going back to the second book in the series next.
