Like others I have books from 2012 that wait to be read... and they already make a good dent in the list of countries.
Starting with South Africa with Patrick Flanery's Absolution

Another "left-over from last year is Mark Weston's The Ringtone and the Drum: Travels in the World's Poorest Countries

Staying in Africa, next on the list is Nigeria with Sefi Atta's brand new A Bit of Difference

and
Rwanda with Scholastique Mukasonga's La femme aux pieds nus

after those a break from Africa heading to the Americas...

Thanks, Judy. I have been so wrapped up with Africa and Mali in particular that I haven't done the thinking on where else to go. I have a few books here that I want to read, but then new ones pop up all the time... I am currently reorganizing my book shelves and that should help. I hope. But I am sure the African bias will be there for 2013...
