Hi everyone. Sorry I'm so absent of late... Odette's poll seems to have a tie. I'm going to leave the final choice up to her. I'm way behind, but if you all would like to start a new on, I'm ok with that, though I think we're far from done with the last two! Thoughts?

Odette | 25 comments Right now it's tied between Painting the Dark Side and The Shape of Content.

Would those of you who voted for Mark Ryden's Tree Book or The Hudson River School like to change your votes and break the tie?

The Shape of Content is very much focused on the process of art. It's short, has some b&w line illustrations, and it's the least expensive of the choices.

Painting the Dark Side is lushly illustrated, more expensive & deals with 19th C American art (including Hudson River School - at least the Gothic parts of it.) I was drawn to it because I'm fascinated by gothic theory in literature and the visual arts.

There is also a "polls" link towards the right of the group page if you ever need to find it elsewhere.

Thanks for posting that, Kay! I was already in bed.

Odette | 25 comments Thanks for voting, everyone. It looks like Artipathy is reading Painting the Dark Side next (which suits me, since for some reason the warm Spring weather and flowering trees in Atlanta are putting me in the mood for something gothic...go figure).
