Do you think you need school? Are there class you have to take that you think you will never use in life? Is school good or Bad? Why do we have so much of it?

School. What does it mean to you?

School is boring, I mean hanging with friends isn't but i don't get why we have to learn everything we learn there.

I love school! I'm in college so that makes a diffrence I think; getting to choose what you learn is entirely diffrent than being told what you have to learn.

yeah, I would think so.

i really enjoy school but its mostly because the teachers make it fun. I'm in this sort of GATE program for "gifted and talented education" so learning's pretty important but its not a major priority for me. I enjoy learning the names of every single person around me (which im getting close to) so yea.

I must admit that I did enjoy school before college... learning has always been near the top of my list.

on prep school i've always said that i loved school, 'cuz i did but, i don't know.. some things have change but i think i like school but hate the idea of learning not necesary things..

I hate busy work at school. That is probably the thing that bugs me most about school.

i HATE algebra my teacher even told my class that we r never going 2 use the stuff she is teaching us. she says she is teachin it 2 teach us how 2 problem solve

I stopped taking math about halfway through my jr. year... best thing I ever did, lol! But it is a requirement (in California at least) to take a basic math section to get your AA no matter what you are majoring in. But it is true, you will probably never use the stuff you learn in algebra... ever.

at my school you only need 3 years of each: math, science, and history. And 4 years of english.
Speaking of english, I think you should be able to test out of it, every year cause I hate the way most english teachers teach, as a matter of fact, I've only really liked one, Ms. Malecha. But all we really do is read a book and write a paper, I write more papers in history than english class!!

I educated myself so I wouldn't know about uninteresting teachers. But I could never dream of wanting to test out of English class; maybe if it was to easy.

Bella Ms. Malecha is my homeroom teacher and she seems really nice but i don't have her i have mr, reinheimer and he's annoying! we don't get tests (it's not as fun as it seems) and he doesn't teach well i hate it!

since you educate your self, it's different. I wouldn't mind taking independent study for english, but my school won't let me. (even if my mom has a degree in english.) It's the way the teachers teach, and what we do/ don't do. considering it's english-there really isn't much english we're doing. And every year, they try to concerdict something taught the year before. But Ms. Malecha was AMAZING!!

I was homeschooled. It beats public education any day! I was able to start college during highschool, and got to graduate early.

She might have not had to take it, cause it isn't required in all states.

True I wouldn't mind schooling myself.

i wanted to take lessons when i was 9 but i didn't :S and i forgot y xD

It was a lot of fun. I took it for about seven years before it started getting to be to much of hassel.

Yes you should. Oh and Aliya, my brother was reading the book Fight Club, like the movie and I just kept thinking about that one part in it when Brad Pitt's riding around their house without pants on.
