Rated YA-MA discussion

I am about to be plunged into a Chemistry classroom as an inclusion teacher. I would like to do some spot reading from some YA novels in this class. Does anyone know any YA books that have Chemistry content?

Yes, we are talking about chemistry as a school subject. Spot reading is reading a short section of a novel that has some connection to the subject being taught that day. For instance, i read some pages in a biology class last year from Evolution, Me, and Other Freaks of Nature on the day that we were debating Evolution and Creationism. I am looking for some short sections of YA that have some content that I can use in the Chemistry classroom.

has a girl who lives in the closet of a chemistry or physics classroom in the science building of what used to be a university. There's one part where she uses knowledge she's gained by reading the textbooks and whatnot to build some Molotov coctail sort of firebomb things with the chemistry supplies so she can escape capture.

I need both kids in Chemistry and Chemistry as part of the plot.

Ugh, I keep thinking of because it has all that science in it - but it's more about MicroBiology than anything, since it deals with viruses and etc.

Or can that be considered Organic Chemistry? Anyway, it definitely does go into detail about testing viruses and immunities.

is Steampunk where some of the creatures are hybrids (which is biology, yeah) but the way some of the creatures work could be considered chemistry - like the Leviathan, a whale/ship, makes hydrogen and is able to stay afloat that way. It discusses a bit of the science behind it, but not a lot.

If virus's count, you could look at - but that's a totally fictional virus... so that might not work (as is Partials, but at least with Partials the MC is doing a ton of tests as you would when testing immunities).

Some of those might be a major stretch, but I figured I would search my brain since you need so many of them. Don't know if they will work or not - sorry if they don't D:

I know that there are more that I can come up with than just The Farm. I'll need to think on it.
