SLANZA Bookclub discussion

Does anyone know anything about Korean? It's just that I'm reading this book by a Korean which has been translated by a Korean, and it's in the second person. I'm wondering if this is a more common thing in that language? Or has the translator decided it is the appropriate literacy style? The translation itself has some crunchy moments (eg the Braille proliferated the paper.)
