Hi, Julie - welcome to the "75" challenge. You sure have some weighty titles included in what you're read so far this year! What did you think of "The Devil in the White City"? I've been considering reading that one.

It was pretty interesting. I had no idea of the crimes that had taken place there during the "World Exposition" as they called it. Rather than being a story about just the crimes that were committed, it also followed the exposition from concept to construction and destruction. I would recommend it!

How did the Slumdog Millionaire book stack up to the movie? I almost never like a movie better than the book, but that movie was SO good!!!

I wish I could say I've seen the movie, but I haven't :( This has to be one of my most favorite books of all time though, so if the movie is half as good, I'd be happy!

Julie, I just read this one not too long ago. What did you think of it?

I learned a lot! I had always heard about the Dust Bowl, but never really new the extent of the toll it took on land and lives. I live in Eastern Kansas, so many of the locations were somewhat familiar to me.

Thanks, Julie. My great-grandfather settled in Nebraska and I heard tales of the dustbowl years from my grandfather. I don't believe it was as bad there as it was in Oklahoma and the Texas panhandle, but what an awful time.

Julie, I have such mixed feelings about Edgar Sawtelle. It really was a love/hate relationship with the whole novel. What did you think of it?

That's exactly what I thought! I actually had to put it down and read something else until I felt like I could read it again! I loved it, but at times I really wanted to stop altogether!
