Here are the ranks used from worst to best:

Probatios are the lowest rank. They are campers who have not yet proved themselves. After you prove yourself, you become a legionnaire and will get stripes on your arm for the number of years you have been there over the letters SPQR. The symbol of your godly ancestor will also be with it. Centurions are the best two fighters in every cohort. There are three cohorts, with 1 being the highest and 5 the lowest. Every cohort has a standard bearer who carries the standard. The standard bearer for the legion is even higher than the cohort. The standard for this standard bearer is the golden eagle. This is a very honored position-unless they've lost the eagle to their enemies. Then they hold the empty golden pole. The augur is the fortuneteller similar to Camp Half-Blood's Oracle. Finally, there are two praetors, the camp leaders. ONLY ACTIVE MEMBERS CAN BE PRAETORS!
