Elebrand was walking through the halls of the evlen capital when he saw movement in the shadows to his left. "Who's there?", he shouted.
"hello." Morne Said, coming out of the shadows, He leaned against a pillar as if he was supposed to be here. "Morne." He said, scratching his head. "And what might your name be?"
"Elebrand Oakleaf, Elven Spymaster. What are you doing in the Elven capital?"
Morne Shrugged. "What are you doing in the...what was it? The...elven capital? ...hmm...I didn't know the elves had a capital...interesting." Morne wiped his finger along the pillar. "wow, you really keep this place spic and span, huh?"
Morne sighed. "Not the talkative type huh? Oh well. I guess I'll be going, I can't waste my day." He looked at his finger nails and made a face, he wiped them on his tunic and started off away from the elf, humming softly.
Elebrand decided to follow Morne discreetly, as it was his job to ensure the safety of the city. Quietly, he crept into the shadows and followed Morne down the street.
Morne stopped at a street vendor after leaving the elf capital it was a weird thought, that there was an elf capital he chuckled quietly to himself, and watched the vendor for a series of minutes, trying to decide if he wanted the papaya. Morne finally figured that yes, he did want it, and went to to the vendor. He grinned. "Hello good sire." The street vendor raised an eyebrow. "Do you want some fruit or not? It's 10 copper pieces..." Morne shrugged and said. "Yeah, I kind of, do, but I would really rather not pay for it..." He held out a hand, and the street vendor put it in his palm, as if he always gave out fruit to strangers. "Why thank you." Morne turned and took a bite out of the fruit, winking at Elebrand as he passed.
How did he see me?, Elebrand thought incredulously. Sighing, Elebrand stepped out from the shadows and paid the merchant the 10 copper pieces owed. Then he walked swiftly to catch up with the man. "Hey! How did you see me? I was using spells and everything.", he said.
Morne shrugged. "Maybe you should make those things stronger, I hear elves have strong powers, you should use them better." He looked at The elf. "It is really me who should be asking the questions though. Why are you following me?"
"Because I can. It's my job to safeguard the city, so I have to right to check out anyone I find suspicious."
"Well... I was just wondering how many more vendors I would have to bamboozle before you ran out of copper." Morne said, shrugging.
"I think you should come with me."
Morne thought about it for a second, he wasn't really sure he wanted to, he never met someone who had actually wanted to pay a street vendor, and it was rather odd. "Hmm." He said, watching the elf closely. "Where are you going?"
"I meant to the security headquarters." Then Elebrand whipped out a pair of handcuffs and connected one to his own hand, and one to Morne's.
"I don't think you have much of a choice.", said Elebrand.
Morne nodded. "I think I do." He wasn't worried, he knew eventually he would break this elf's mind, he had broken more powerful minds then that before, what he was worried about was the time that he was wasting while breaking the elf's mind.
"Wrong. Come this way.", said Elebrand as he led Morne down the street.
Elebrand looked deep into Morne's eyes and used some of his legendary elvish magic that was so powerful against any mortal. "You want to come with me.", Elebrand said in a dreamlike voice.
Morne smirked. This elf thought that he could control one of the most powerful minds in the city. "If you don't let me go right now... elf. I'm going to cause some damage, you wouldn't want anything to happen to your precious street vendor would you?"
Then Elebrand realized who it was he held by the wrist. "Wait a minute... What did you say you're name was?"
"Morne? Is that you?", Elebrand said incredulosly.
Morne smiled. "It is indeed." He was more then a little surprized at the way they had meet after not seeing each other for years, but he had gone this long without questioning why things happened, and he wouldn't now.
With a giddy laugh, Elebrand embraced Morne. "It is good to see you my friend."
"It's nice to see you to. Could you uhh, take these handcuffs off? They aren't the most pleasant things in the world."
"Oh, yes. Of course. I'm so sorry old friend." Then with a snap of his fingers, the cuffs fell off. "Where have you been all this time? I thought you were dead!"
Morne shrugged, absentmindedly rubbing his wrists, you would think that after all these times he would get used to it, but they still hurt. "I've been in hiding mostly. My mom died, so I got a dog. I see you joined the Elven guards, or whatever the hell you people call them"
"Yes, Father finally convinced me to do it. I'm sorry to hear about your mother."
Morne shrugged. "It was bound to happen since the gully dwarf thing, I mean, I loved her, but a dog is much better company."
"Oh... Well, do you have a place to stay in the city?"
"Are you kidding? Who would allow me to stay with them? Nah, I'm just kind of staying on the streets, I like it better there anyways, houses are so....boring."
"Well, I insist that you come to stay with me and Laurana. We have an extra room and more than enough food.
((haha, Laurana, nicceee))
Morne nodded. "Sure, for a little while I guess. Are you sure it's ok? I mean, I am still sort of on the run, I never really got things sorted out."
Morne nodded. "Sure, for a little while I guess. Are you sure it's ok? I mean, I am still sort of on the run, I never really got things sorted out."
"What things? Ah, you know what, as long as it wasn't murder, you can stay with us."
((What can I say, she is very good looking. There's a picture of her in the D&D player's handbook that makes her look like the woman in the red dress))

((Also, I'm really crappy at coming up with elvish names))
((Lol, Tan is gonna kiiillll yooouuu))
Morne nodded. "Okay, I'm just going to go give the rest of this papaya to my dog, I'll meet up with you." He turned and ran off, bumping into a few people along the way.

Sam walked slowly and deliberately through the smoothly paved Elven streets. He knew there was no need for any rush, then he would just look suspicious. And although he would just look a small child to any Elf who might see him, the Elves were intelligent, they would realize he wasn't just a lot little human boy running around. Especially now, since more and more boys like him were being used. Sam knew the city well. Although he had never been directly into the Elven capital before he had seen enough images and had to memorize every single street and river until he felt like he'd lived there his whole life. His was looking for the Elvish man called "Elebrand" in the common tongue, and with his acute knowledge of the city, Sam would find him.
As he watched Morne walk away, Elebrand realized that he should probably go inform his wife of their impending visit. As he turned around, he bumped into a small human child. "Oh, pardon me young sir. Are you lost?", said Elebrand as he knelt down.

"You're Elebrand, correct?" Sam asked. He knew of course that it was true, but respect and cover were necessary.
"Yes, but how do you know my name?"

Sam replied carefully, "I will answer your first question first. The answer is, no, I am not lost. And as to how I know your name, that requires a much longer answer then I can say here."
"If you are not lost, then where are your parents?"
