Can we also discuss overused names? Like the name Stella was majorly overused about two years ago (which was a shame because I really liked that name) or Josh. Like be a little more creative. But not so creative that no one knows what on earth that name even is.

lol I know the feeling. I dont let anyone call me Bella for short thanks to Stephanie Meyer.
I have seen a lot of names get overused. its like come on you can pick something a little unique at least, why does all your boys names have to be Bob, or Joe, why not Jonah, Blake, or something? Honestly if you dont know what to name your character you can always go on google find a baby website filled with names and pick one there. I do it all the time

yeah! especially cause certain websites you can search for a name based on orgin. Like if you wanted an Italian name, or a old Nordic one or whatever, you can find one like that.
thats how i find more than half of my characters names. The rest I made up lol.
one of my characters names that I love to use is Tsu-tey, and before anyone says anything, I was using that name in like 2004 before the movie Avatar came out, so no i didnt steal it from the stupid movie.
that had to be said.

yeah. As a result I have to change them sometimes.
im keeping Tsu-tey though

But you have to admit, that when the names get a little bit too complicated, like Zaide, and you don't even know how to pronounce it, it gets a little bit egregious.
agreed. Thats the main reason why i go to baby name websites and stuff if I'm stumped, cause it can produce a lot of names and a lot of them are common enough but still unique like Jessamine and Temperance.
They are all freaking funny when you stop to think about it. :D
Let's have a discussion about this! Come up with better ideas.
Here's another one: http://www.gamesradar.com/the-top-7-l...
The very first description about the Hero:
A mainstay of role-playing games for as long as we can remember, the Brooding Pretty Boy is capable of impossible extremes. He is both softly feminine and ruggedly masculine. With a tortured and mysterious past, he can play either hero or villain. And although one of the most attractive and popular characters in the game, he usually acts the most depressed and downtrodden. To some, he is an intriguing enigma; to others, a big self-pitying baby.
Hilarious. Cliche. Perfect. HAHA!!! I love it!!

My favorite of them all:
Characters with Atrociously-Spelled Names
Let's just say that if I have to get out the pronounciation guide to get through the first half of your character's name, it shouldn't be done. Neither should flailing your fingers around on the keyboard until you find something "usable" or finally giving up and picking a name with no vowels.
