Ha! I was just about to start a thread about this. :)
Confession: I haven't yet read the Lord of the Rings (Only the Fellowship), and aside from The Hobbit, I haven't read anything else Tolkien (what can I say, it's on my to-do list). That being said, I know Tolkien himself was a linguist and spent an unimaginable amount of time creating his languages.
Heck, just listen to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6de_S... I mean... that sounds like a man who knew how to create a language!

You haven't read LotR? Blashemy!

I've managed to read Hobbit, Fellowship, and part of Towers, but nothing else except appendices D and E (or was it E and F?), the ones on the languages. Everything else is on my to read list though, including his translations.I have to read those appendices again, though, because I don't really remember much from them.
Tolkien create such beautiful languages. I have read the appendices of Silmarillion, The Lord of the Rings and Unfinished Tales a lot of times, but I am not an expert about the languages. I have two books about the elvish languages: Curso de Sindarin - Pedin Edhellen and Curso de Quenya: A Mais Bela Língua dos Elfos.
