Percy Jackson is Awesome!!! discussion

Ok so I know this happened a while ago but...what did people think about Percy losing the curse of Achilles? Did you hate it? Did you love it? Did you think it made him weaker/stronger?

I didn't like him having the curse, I thought it made him feel like less of a hero when he was so invincible. I like him when he's strong enough on his own. So I was very happy when I read that he lost it. But I've heard others say that they think it was a bad move and made him just seem weaker, like he'd regressed.

This has been crossing my mind a lot lately. He's in Tartarus now and he doesn't have is heel.... It worries me.

Dunno, I thought of your point, Shee, but at the same time, I don't think it changed much. I have a feeling Rick will make him almost just as powerful, and that IS weak... but I hope he doesn't.

I don't mind him being that powerful if he works for it himself, I know he worked for the curse of Achilles but it felt so sudden, he was completely invulnerable after being just a normal kid. I want him to grow stronger and be one of the most powerful demigods (if not the most) but I want him to get that way on his own merits.

I didn't like the Curse idea in the first place. I thought it was great when he got rid of it.

Yeah, that's the way I feel. Though I understand why he needed to have it in order to fight Kronos, I was relieved when he lost it.

Kind of wish he lost it sooner, though it fit well at the beginning of the SoN.

Yeah I was like... OMGOSH!!! HIS CURSE!!! And sometimes I have to step back and be all like "He isn't invulnerable anymore..." haha

I was a bit like that when he had the curse, something dangerous would happen and I'd be like "Percy-no!!!" only to remember he had the curse and so couldn't get hurt. Everytime I remembered I was dissapointed...

That was pretty awesome, though how she knew about Percy's weak spot was never really explained...that's one thing I've always wondered.
