Kasper wandered into the music shop, bobbing his head to the familiar song playing. He started shuffling through the records that they had just brought into the shop that he could take home to his new record player.
Jace walks out of the back of the shop with a couple of records in his arms, he places them onto the counter. Jace had been working part time here and part time at the book shop, his dad still owns it even though he doesn't really need to after his last book went global. Jace see's Kasper and arches an eyebrow, "Kas" Jace calls over, Kasper and Jace has grown up together as their parents are friends.
Kas spins around to see Jace and grins ear to ear. "Sup, Jace?" He stolled over to the counter with the record of his choice, The Strokes. He flicks his head to the side as he walked over to swoop his hair out of his eyes.
Jace smirks and runs a hand through his mess of black hair, his silver eyes just like his fathers watch Kas with amusment. The two of them have always been the type to get into trouble, in and outside school. Teachers would constantly be seperating them. Jace nods, smirk still in place, "Alright Kas, you know, if you missed me that much all you had to do was say so...stalking isn't needed" he jokes.
Kasper shrugged sarcastically, "You caught me." He brought the record on the counter then leaned his elbow beside it as he gazed out the shop window. "Want to tag team tonight?" The two boys had figured out in grade school that girls always traveled in twos.
Jace tenses, him and Kas always do this, it's nothing new. But Jace isn't sure why the thought isn't as appealing as it once was. But he can hardly tell Kasper that, they may be best friends, but there are certain things lads just don't tell each other, especially not ones like Kas and Jace. "Yeah alright then, but don't blame me when they BOTH want me again" he says with a forced smirk.
Kas narrows his eyes and straightened up. "Aye, it was only 'cause they were both drunk and you know it." His eyes softened and he was about to ask about the record when he noticed Jace's tense posture. "You alright, mate?"
Jace forces himself to relax his muscles, looks like that councelor's advice really have come in handy from when they tried to get his 'anger issues' under control a few years ago. "Nah mate, i'm alright". Lie. "You WISH they were both drunk, thats the only way you'd get a girl" jokes Jace trying to lighten the mood, he knocks Kasper playfully.
Kasper laughs it off, "Whatever you say, Jace. I'll prove it to you tonight." He winked before glances back down at the record. "Alright, I'm buying this one. I wont return it this time, I promise. It's the one." He laid a charming smile onto his best bud.
Jace drops his star silver eyes from Kasper's smile, his messy dark hair falls over them slightly, "Yeah yeah, you said that about the last bloody twenty, just because i work here doesn't mean i can let you treat it like a music library you tosser" says Jace with a real smile this time.
"Can't and wont are two very different things, Jace." He joked. He cocked his head to the left for a moment, assessing Jace. "You sure you're alright, mate? You seem a bit..off." He admitted. He knew if Jace wanted to talk about it, he would. Though he never really wants to talk anything..deep.
There is a reason Jace and Kasper don't talk about more deep stuff more often these days. Kasper knows more about Jace than anyone, and Jace knows more about Kasper than anyone, thats the way it is. But lately there have been things going on with Jace that he can never tell Kasper, which is shit for Jace. "Like i said Kas, ther ain't nothing going on with me. Just a bit tired, mum's been driving me mental about getting my shit together" he says.
Kasper nodded his head, accepting the explanation. "Alright, Jace. Man, that sucks. You know you can stay with my mum and pop anytime. They're usually out of town these days anyway." A sly smirk started spreading on his mouth again.
Jace smirks, Kas and Jace stay round each others place a lot, have done since they were children. Both their parents had them when they were teenagers so they are all pretty close. "Yeah alright then, i will, but no bringin loads of girl back, i like my sleep alright" he says jokingly. Very relieved that Kas accepts what he said without pressing.
Kas let's out a loud laugh, "There are icecaps all over hell, Jace. You don't want there to be loads of girls? Are you slowing down on me?" His eyes crinkled from smiling. He knew what Jace meant, he just liked to tease him a little.
Jace flinches uncontrolably at Kasper's words even though Jace knows he's only joking. Jace looks down, his silver eyes meet Kas's full on for a moment when he says "No, i'm just letting you catch up".
Kasper's eyebrows met in the middle in confusion, but he didn't press it. He let the subject go. "Alright, mate. Well, can I get this record or not?" He stood on the balls of his feet, already knowing the answer.
Jace smirks again at that, Kasper always knows just what to say or do when Jace feels shitty or uncomfortable. It's one of the things that make their friendship work so well. "For fuck sake, alright yeah, but i swear to the rock gods if you bring this back i will hit you over the head with it" he says with mock exasperation.
Kasper's grin returns. "Thanks, Jace! This is the one, I know it. I wont return it, Scout's honor." He held up his middle finger in a mock salute before doubling over in laughter, "Nah, I'm kidding. I'll see you tonight, though?"
Jace nods and returns the salute, "yeah, i'll see you tonight, at least try to look presentable, idon't want you scaring them off" he jokes.
(We ff-ing to a place? Are we doing the night out bit or just the bit where they get back to Kasper's place maybe a bit drunk? x)
(We ff-ing to a place? Are we doing the night out bit or just the bit where they get back to Kasper's place maybe a bit drunk? x)
Kasper rolls his eyes dramatically and punches Jace's shoulder playfully. "Whatever you say, mate." ((Yeah, They'll be at Kasper's place.))
