Danielle Description:
They say you can never truely be safe.
Kalla didn't know how true that was until the day she lost her sister, and her freedom right along with her. Since then, she has lived with her captors stuggling to stay alive. One day, Kalla comes across an ordinary locket that may be anything but. The time has come for Kalla to make her decision: stay a slave or fight for her life.

Kalla hugged her younger sister closer. The footsteps were coming closer. Ever stiffled a cry. She was still too young for this. At four years old, Ever was already running for her life - again.

Their parents had left for Italy the day before for some 'work' that had to be done. That left Kalla and Ever alone with the sevants for the week. Except, even they couldn't protect the sisters now that They were here.

A loud crash echoed from the hallway, followed by a pair of very careful footsteps. It was hard enough to stay hidden without making a sound, but hearing Their voices outside made it nearly impossible. Slowly, the door creaked open.

"It's no use hiding. We know you're in there and we will find you. You little playthings have caused us enough trouble already to be fun anymore."

There was something in that man's voice that shook Kalla unlike anything had before. This man was not who one wanted as his enemy. The Man came in and violently threw the table that served as a hiding spot across the room, leaving Ever and Kalla with no place to run.

Peace grabbed Ever's wrist and made a dash towards the open window, just armlengths away, as they were pulled back with such force that Peace sat helplessly watching as the Man put a knife to Ever's throat.

"Since your parents aren't here right now as I planned them to be, I think I'll just have to settle with you two instead." the Man laughed as if this was all a game to him. "Though they would have proved much more entertaining than the pathetic performance I've seen tonight."

Then the Man, ever so slowely, pressed the knife deeper and deeper into Ever's throat. Crimson red blood started creeping out from under the cold metal, painting the floor as it fell. It took all of Kalla's strength to stay where she was.

If Ever died tonight, Kalla wanted to be the one to take the killer down. To be the one who would carry her to the feild of wildflowers that she liked so much. To be the one to say her final goodbye.

Kalla lifted her head to glare at the Man, but stopped when she saw Ever's eyes. She didn't see her little sister in them anymore.

"I love you Ever," Kalla whispered so quietly that she wasn't even sure Ever had heard her.

But when Kalla gazed into Ever's fading eyes once again, she saw a much older soul looking back with undying love. Then, with a weak smile that said more than words could say alone, Ever closed her eyes for the last time.
