Fay glanced around the room, noticing the large television. Well, if she was stuck there, she might as well enjoy herself. She flopped down onto the sofa, snatching the remote off of the other end of the couch. "Does the dumbass who lives here have cable?" She wondered aloud.
Kat shrieked, furious to be transported without her will. "What the hell?!" Seven?? He was out of her range. Had Eight left him??
Fay stared at all of them, raising her eyebrows. "Is it always like this with you guys?" She switched to another channel on the TV.
Fay stood as soon as the Lorien boy hit the couch. "Well, thanks for the unasked for rescue, but if you don't mind, I'd like to go home to my apartment." She headed to the door.
Fay stumbled away from him, holding her head. "Good Lord, stop doing that," she said, trying to remain balanced.
"Lovely. Now that we're all acquainted, I'd like to know why you won't let me get the hell out of here." She gave Seven and Eight a curt smile.
"That sounds extremely cheesy. I happen to be allergic to cheese." Nine quipped, though she didn't deny the truth of his statement.
Fay rolled her eyes. "I understand that. But it's not like we can just pack up and find the others. We don't know where they are. They could be anywhere on this entire planet! Hell, I was in England a few months ago." She sighed again, giving them all a look. "I just want to sleep in my own bed. Can't we just regroup in the morning?"
"May I take care of Anna?" Kat mumbled to the group. the death of her guardian was starting to really sink in.
Fay sensed the sudden tension in the room at Kats words and decided to stop arguing. Which was exceptionally rare for her. She set her eyes on the floor.
Fay was completely lost. Maybe they wouldn't notice if she turned invisible and climbed through a window or something. She looked around, stepping away from the group as subtly as she could manage.
Though she didn't say anything, Five greatly appreciated his support. How old were you when you lost your Cêpan?
"Oi. Sit. Stay." Nine's eyes snapped toward Fay in warning before she looked back to Eight. "In what sense?"
Fay folded her arms, pouting. She fell back onto the couch, balancing an energy ball in her hand, tossing it up and down carefully. Here's hoping she didn't accidentally blow anything up.
"Why can't you stop trying to be charming and evasive and answer the damn question honestly?" Nine nodded approvingly at Fay. Even if she hadn't listened, the girl probably would have used her powers on Fay.
Fay put her other hand over the energy ball, pressing it down so it became smaller, sending minimal shocks of electricity through her palms. Once it was the size of a nickel, she grinned, flicking it at the back of Eights head.
"So, are we actually going to do something?" Fay interrupted, getting to her feet impatiently. "I'm not really into this whole 'sitting around and waiting' thing."
"Neither am I but I can at least recognize how asinine an idea it is to wander out alone. Especially since we can be killed out of order." Nine snorted. "They suck, therefore we should throw rocks at them."
"Yeah, but we're sitting ducks just waiting here," Fay insisted, folding her arms again indignantly .
"Give Kat some time to mourn. Surely, you know how it feels to lose your Cepan?" Nine huffed, brushing her hair out of the way.
At that Fay fell silent her face becoming a blank slat. She sat back on the couch and for good measure became invisible. She was still touchy about her Cepan, still loathed thinking about something that made her feel so vulnerable.
Nine nodded, resisting the urge to roll her eyes at Fay's lack of maturity. The death of her own Cepan had been a painful experience, but it had happened long ago. The wounds had scarred over.
"Did you hear that?" Fay asked, jumping to her feet, staring up at the ceiling. She became visible. "Someone screamed."
This time, Fay didn't argue. Because even though she liked to be indifferent or argumentative about everything, deep down she did care for the other Loriens. She hurried after Nine, a pit forming in her stomach.
