Len (goodreadscomnotsofast) | 2 comments I'm trying to add a variety of art books to my reading list, from history perspective to painting instruction.
As a Canadian I am very interested in Tom Thompson and the Group of Seven.
I've read Defiant Spirits by Ross King which was a very good historical overview of Tom Thompson and the Group of Seven.
Inward Journey by James King a good biography about Lawren Harris.
Right now I am rereading Alla Prima by Richard Schmid which is an excellent book on painting wet on wet with oils.

Darice Machel McGuire (daricemachel) | 1 comments I have a huge art book collection. The majority of them are Walter Foster books. I started reading and collecting them through my parents Gallery/art supply store many years ago. I also get the old ones from estate sales and yard sales.
Last year I got an email from the editor of Walter Foster Publishing asking if I'd be interested in co-writing a book they were working on. I said yes. The book is now out, it's called "The Art of Painting in Acrylic".
