what tv shows do you like watching? and do you watch "regular" tv, or do you use hulu or netflix?

I really don't watch 'regular tv' lol I use hulu and this really cool site called AnimePalm to watch anime.

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

I use TV and Netflix. I love Jessie and Dora the Explorer. Go Diego Go and Mickey Mouse are amazing! I like Pretty Little Liars, Teen Wolf, Glee, and I loooove anime.

I was actually looking on wikipedia yesterday trying to figure out exactly what anime/manga are...never really figured out the difference between the two...

I used to always just watch regular tv (and not even cable- an antenna! I have 5 channels! lol) but have recently started watching a lot of stuff on netflix. (I tried hulu, but didn't have access to much...it's probably a better selection if you pay for it?)

anyway, I LOVE netflix now! no commercials, which is the best! and I can sit and watch a whole season of a show, which is pretty awesome!

I like Glee too! though I don't think any of them have been as good as the first season- I LOVED the first season!

yeah Hulu does suck a lot. I've never tried Netflix but everyone says it's really good.

Lol manga is the book version..anime is the show. So typically the manga comes out first and then they work to make that into an anime (tv show)

ohhhhh! thanks, now I get it!

and- yeah, I think netflix kinda sucks for movies (every one that I want to see isn't available for streaming), but I've found a lot of good shows on there.

my new favorites that I've found on there are The Walking Dead, Parks and Recreation, and Portlandia.

I also still love South Park (obviously!), Family Guy, American Dad, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, The Good Wife (though I haven't found a SINGLE other person who watches it!), The Closer, and Breaking Bad.

oh, ha ha! yeah, good point...I don't know if many of the shows I loved as a youngster even air anymore...like Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, Powerpuff Girls, Ren and Stimpy, Cow and Chicken, Courage the Cowardly Dog...I also loved All That, The Secret World of Alex Mac, and Are you Afraid of the Dark...

oh! I know Spongebob still airs, right? I loved that one!

aw, I wish my mom was a fan, but she doesn't care for it much, lol! although (kinda sadly) my niece and nephew love it...my sister doesn't really care what they watch as much as she should...

oh, I LOVE the Walking Dead! it's pretty much a post-apocalyptic zombie show...it's scary, and I love the characters and actors- can't wait til it starts up again! (oh, and yeah, my facebook friends are kinda assholes about it...they post spoiler-stuff all the time!)

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

I like glee, parenthood, biggest loser, and psych. Is walking dead scary??

yeah, I think it's scary! but I've always loved zombie stuff, like resident evil and dawn of the dead.

I've heard a lot of people mention psych, but don't know anything about it. what's it about?

Renee Constantine | 2 comments I've only found 1 small down fall to watching shows on netflix, and that's the wait after you watch everything they have!

I am a big NCIS fan, and got hooked on Numbers over the weekend, and tonight we will be watching the final couple episodes available.

I'm a big Walking Dead, Doctor Who, Once Upon a Time, Sherlock, Criminal Minds, Deception, Bomb Girls, Big Bang Theory, New Girl, Two Broke Girls, How I Met Your Mother, Community, and the Following. Plus like a hundred others I can't remember at the moment :)

oh, yes! I know exactly what you mean! that's what happened to me with The Walking Dead- I blazed through the first two seasons (barely sleeping or eating) and have been suffering withdrawals ever since, lol! I've also had to be really careful on Facebook b/c people LOVE to post spoilers! :/

another show that I did that with (though not with quite the same intensity) was Parks and Recreation- I can't wait to see more episodes!

I like Criminal Minds, too! and I love those types of novels- serial killers and FBI profilers. I always recommend the Maggie O'Dell series (she's a profiler, and the first one is A Perfect Evil) to people who like Criminal Minds...

I have been hearing SO much about Dr. Who that I'm thinking I need to check it out! but aren't there a boat-load of episodes? where to start??

I also like 2 Broke Girls pretty good, but I think you're the first person I've found that also likes it! :D

I HAVE been following The Following (heh heh), hoping to love it (since I'm pretty sure it's why my favorite show- The Closer- ended...my understanding is that Kevin Bacon's wife quit that show so that he could do this one), but haven't connected with it yet. gonna keep trying, though!

ah, oh yeah- I just finished watching all of Arrested Development on Netflix...I loved it, and am so sad that it was cancelled! :( but I think I heard that Netflix is supposedly bringing it back soon? hope so!

I've seen it, but I can't stand it. The fact that John is 'Joan' just kind of ruins it for me. Half of the awesomness of Sherlock is the bromance with Johnlock

Betsy (mistymtladi) | 2 comments Merlin is a series I watch on Hulu - it comes with my internet free, but it was/is? on TV too.It is a re-telling of the King Athur tale. But it is SO different than the traditional story that you end up liking the story for itself. Arthur is an arrogant hotshot son and of King Uther Pendragon who has banned all magic from Camelot due to the death of his wife. Merlin is sent undercover to Camelot and becomes the servant of Arthur and later his mentor to help him develop kingly traits. Arthur is arrogantly unaware of Merlin's interventions on his behalf.
