Ugh I need the third book! That was a cruel cliffhanger! I love this series but I am so confused still haha
Oh, I know! I thought the same thing! I felt bad for Mara the whole time in this one, it would be horrible to have nobody believe you and everybody think you're crazy (besides her boyfriend). Such a terrible way to end it, Hodkins must really want us to come back for the third.
Oh my gosh yes! It kinda annoyed me that nobody listened to her. Like I understand why they think she is crazy but at the same time they could have taken the time to listen to Mara. They just wrote her off immediately. Noah is the only one who ever listened and that just breaks my heart for her!
I know! It brings out a lot of feelings because you feel her pain and confusion of why everybody around her is telling her one thing, but she is living another. It even made her question her own sanity. I want to know what's going to happen with this whole flashback thing and being connected to her grandmother. That was an open storyline from what I remember. (view spoiler)
It makes it all the more satisfying when you finally have it in your hands and are able to crack it open and start reading!
Me too! It's even better when you can pick out your book from a book store. Barnes and Noble is basically my favorite place ever.
Me too! My wallet hates it but I just can't help myself. I step into a bookstore and I'm a goner. I'm walking out of that book with at least one book. Maybe two if my parents are feeling generous or I offer to clean a car or do dishes :P
Haha it is impossible for me to go into a bookstore without buying a book. It just feels wrong haha. I'm also an Amazon addict. I'm always getting stuff from there.
I have a nook, unfortunately. Wish I would have gotten a kindle. They have a bigger variety of books and more deals!
Haha I had a nook forever and I loved it but I recently got myself an iPad so I use both the kindle and nook apps and just get the eBook wherever it's cheaper lol
That's a good idea. I have a kindle app on my phone but only used it once when I needed to download a review copy from an author.
Yea I used to use the kindle app on my phone an that's when I realized the I loved it and needed an iPad lol
iPads are super nice! I love having such easy access to books now! No matter where I go, I have at least one whether it be a physical book or on my phone or nook.
Me too! I refuse to go anywhere without a book. You neve know when you will have some reading time.
Books make me emotional in different ways. I get so excited when I'm waiting for a book, but I read a lot of open series books and it's nerve wrecking to wait on them because they just can't get there fast enough. I'm always thankful that there are recaps in the books because sometimes I forget a few things and the recaps bring it all back. But I also have trouble when a series is over, sometimes I can't get past it right away. I mourn the loss of a series. When trying to find a new book to read afterwards, it's important to me that I find a book that compares to the one I just read in terms of greatness, but doesn't compete with it (also why I usually end up changing genres/subject matter). I have a nook but wouldn't trade it for a Kindle. I would however, use a tablet to get Kindle and b&n books, like Teresa does.
Edit: I would also like to add that this is why I'm usually just a series reader and not standalone novels. I get way too attached to the stories and characters to want to leave them after only one book. Have any of you read Amy A Bartol? I'm pretty much addicted to her Premonition series.
I'm so like you! I get so depressed when one of my favorite series ends. I feel like I'm breaking up with someone. I'm so happy to have closure but then I miss the characters.
Recaps are great cause I read so many books sometimes things get jumbled in my head.
I still have my nook cause I can't part with it but I love my iPad its so convenient. I will admit that kindle is easier with Netgalley and edelweiss

Agree with both of these comments. But when a new installment in a series releases, I normally reread the last couple books to get back up to speed. I'm a series reader as well. I need to have more than just one book with a group of character because I attach to them so quickly.
I don't have time to reread books but I do sometimes if its a favorite.
I love my series but sometimes it gets annoying. Like if I'm not overl invested I don't like that I have to wait long for a conclusion but if I love the characters I never want it to end. Sometimes though I love a good standalone.

I still have some time to reread (though that time is quickly getting eaten up as my blog grows and I need to produce my reviews of the books I get approached to read). And yeah, I know what you're talking about. I'm having that problem right now with a couple series. I read the first book and it was good but I just can't get back into the story because I wasn't totally in love with it in the first place. I have the habit of buying the next books in those series anyways though. And then I have to force myself to read it because once it's on my shelf, I just feel like I have to force myself to finish it.
I don't even know if that made sense. My mind is all over the place right now haha
Yea I am limited on time cause I work insane hours with my job and I somehow manage to balance my blog with it. I've gotten very picky with books I accept for review because of this. I only accept books I think I'll really love cause I don't like feeling forced to read lol.
Yea I'm having that problem with a couple of series. I wanna know the end but there are so many other books I want to read even more. I have so many books I haven't read yet. They just keep piling up.
And that totally made sense lol

Yay for making sense! When I started getting requests, I was so excited that I basically accepted everything and signed up for a couple of tours, too. I'm so swamped with books I NEED to review, that I haven't had a chance to read one I actually picked out and bought myself since before Christmas. And I have like, 13 books from Christmas sitting on my shelf that are just calling my name.
It's definitely a challenge balancing work (or school in my case) with our blogs. I wish I could just sit on the internet all day and read or write reviews. But life gets in the way or that :P
Yea I was the same which is why I slowed down. I only sign up for tours I really wanna be in and accept great sounding books. Plus any authors I work with I'll always read lol. I finally got caught up on review books and made time for me books and I'm trying to keep it so me books come first.
It is a challenge but I would never give up my blog! I love it too much

I have to admit that if I struggle a lot getting into a new book, I just can't finish it. But if it's good enough to finish the book, I usually continue with the series. Sometimes a new book comes out that I have been waiting for, but I can't read it until after I finish the series I'm currently reading (I try to find books that are at least somewhat complete so I can read more than one), but I think that's just the OCD in me that can't leave a current story to do another if I still have moreto read. I dont blog or write very in depth reviews, but I have too many books I want to read to have time to reread books. I think Harry Potter and a few Alex Cross books are the only ones I have reread before.
I've begun to slow down, too. I don't like putting stress on myself to read and write reviews. It takes the fun out of the process for me. I wish I didn't always force myself to finish books. I just have such a hard time giving up on them. When I buy a book, I feel like I just have to read it, even if it's not as good as I originally thought. I have four books on my shelf like that right now. I tried but I just can't get into them. I'm thinking I'll just have to have a massive giveaway or something and pass them onto someone who will appreciate them more.
I have a hard time giving up on books too. I don't think I have ever DNF'ed a book. Even if I hate it I need to know the ending.
Emily: Harry Potter is a book series I have read over and over lol

I've DNF a couple but that was because I just could not force myself through it. Reading it was making me hate reading and I figured that just wasn't worth it. If I absolutely have to know, I either read the last chapter or ask someone who has already read it. Harry Potter is brilliant. Every time I read it, I come away with a new appreciation of the story, world, and characters.
I'm pretty good with picking books ill like so I've never picked up a book I hated enough not to continue... so far at least. I'm just obsessive and need to finish. I have given up on series though. Sometimes I just don't care enough to pick up the next book.
Harry Potter is what started my love of reading and will always hold a special place in my heart.

I normally am good at that but sometimes (mainly before I made my blog and found all these awesome books and recommendations from other bloggers)I'm just so desperate to get my hands on some sort of new reading material that I pick up the first thing I see. That generally doesn't end well.Twilight was the first book that got me into reading and - even though I'm not a huge fan of it now - it will always be special to me because it really introduced my to reading and YA books.
Yea blogging gives you an overload of awesome books to read lol
I have a softspot for Twilight too. It'll always be special for me.
