Like many other reviewers, I felt as though I walked away with a limited knowledge of Assisi after reading his biography. Would anyone be able to suggest a better, less biased, biography.

I am not sure. But you can try this link and find one out that might suit you. A clue: You can look at the publisher and can decide or you can use the title of the book/name of the author in Goodreads search and you can choose that which suits you.
