We are meeting at the library to discuss Truck on February 9th and I must say, I'm looking forward to this. Truck has become one of my favorite books which has caused me to shove it into people's faces on occasion and shout "read this!" It is funny, poignant, life affirming and dare I say it, a mirror to many parts of my own life (minus the ugly, non-functioning truck and culinary skills of Michael Perry.)

For those not familiar - Michael Perry is a journalist who wrote three autobiographical books - Population 485, Truck and Coop. Each chronicles a part of his life in a small town and anyone with small, rural/town existence will appreciate his insights and humor. Truck chronicles a year in which he attempts to cook all the recipes in his cook book collection, grow his own food and fix up his 1951 International Harvester truck. Along the way he finds the love of his life and each of these endeavors changes his world.

Read it!
