I really enjoyed the book, but it was a lot different from the movie. I missed the pirates.

I really enjoyed the book (read it a while ago so a bit fuzzy). I watched the movie after and didn't actually think it was as good, I just didn't think that it lived up to the book.

Yeah, I read it at the beginning of January so it's fuzzy for me too. I enjoyed the narration in the book more than the movie and I found that there were little things in the book that made the books a lot better than the movie, but I think that the addition of the part with the pirates was fun.

I had watched the movie years before reading the book too, so that has an affect on what I think of them both.

I watched the movie after reading the book, and I love both but for different reasons. I feel like the movie strayed from the book in a lot of ways, but it didn't necessarily detract from the material. It's probably one of the only instances where I like the book and the movie equal amounts, because I usually prefer the book but in this case they were both so good!
