I was wondering if I should enter this in the Lauren Oliver love is dangerous figment contest. It is a poem.Girl in the Mirror
I stare at her.
How is she so perfect?
She is a huge man lure.
Though, she is only a reflect.
Even while I stand alone
In front of the mirror.
I hear my harsh tone
Say I am not her.
I am weaker than a baby.
More paranoid than insects.
But she has no maybe
For the beauty she deflects.
I wish I could be that girl in the mirror.
She's tall, confident, and strong.
Whatever I can do, she does better.
She can't do anything wrong.
They say she is just a reflection.
But I swear that the girl isn't me.
She is made up of pure perfection.
While I'm trapped, she is free.
I wish I could be that girl in the mirror With eyes full of love.
Not one cell in her body is ever bitter.
An angel sent from above.
I wish the girl in the mirror
Would set me free.
I hear her voice in my head.
Telling me it's okay.
That even while my parents are dead.
I will be with them someday.
We dance around the lake.
From dusk until dawn.
She says now you must wake.
I look around for her with a yawn.
She isn't by my side now.
She has escaped to her home.
But beside the mirror, I have no doubt
That I am really alone.
Now the girl in the mirror
Will set me free.
How she talked about freedom.
How it was so fine.
All I ever wanted was freedom.
A selfish love of mine.
One night as I looked at her.
I told her I desperate.
To be perfect and pure.
Then she told me a secret.
We walked beside later that night.
This would set me free.
She said I'd be with my parents now
As I leapt into the sea.
Please comment feedback. I know it is a little scary(the poem).
