Cecilia Robert Welcome to the world of the Reaper's Novice! It's wonderful to have you here with us.

Alesha Escobar Awesome! I've been dying to ask--how exactly do you become a novice of the Reaper himself? Also, are there any misconceptions we have about him that perhaps your heroine, Ana, can shed light on?

So glad to see, Alesha. There are ways to become Reaper's..er..Ernest's Novice. He is quite fair, and gives everyone a choice. The most common:
1. You can apply (You'll find flyers and sign-up forms on doorways at exactly midnight, and that is if you're really sure about joining his ranks.

He is always looking for Soul Collectors. :)

In Ana's case it was unusual and an exception.

Another exceptional case would be if someone dies with lots of bad stuff unresolved, they can be given the choice to come back as a Collector to absolve of all this. Thereafter they can choose to remain as Soul Collector or leave this world forever. This is extremely rare.

Alesha Escobar Very interesting! So Death's name is "Ernest"? I love it! Haha.

Samantha LaFantasie How did you come up with such a unique story idea? This is so fascinating. I can't wait to read it!

Thanks, Samantha. I work as an assistant nurse and got this idea about souls through my job. It's sad, but I kept asking myself where souls go after someone dies. Never got the answer to that, but then I came up with Ana as Ernest's Novice. Would be nice to have someone to handle my soul with care when the time comes. :D. My daughter plays the violin so the violin idea was from her. :)

Samantha LaFantasie I love that. It's nice to answer your own questions with a great possibility and then share that with others. :)

Alesha Escobar LOVE the cover by the way!

Devorah Fox Did you work out the whole "Reaper"concept before you began writing or did it evolve as you wrote the story?

Thanks, Alesha! It's adorable, isn't it? :D

Cecilia Robert Devorah wrote: "Did you work out the whole "Reaper"concept before you began writing or did it evolve as you wrote the story?"

I had worked some basic details for starters. I got more ideas as I delved deeper into the Reaper's world.

Devorah Fox So, as you learned more about the Reaper did you have to change anything? Did you find the story going in an unanticipated direction?

Cecilia Robert Devorah wrote: "So, as you learned more about the Reaper did you have to change anything? Did you find the story going in an unanticipated direction?"

Yes I did. I'm not much of a plotter so while writing I could take the story to different directions. I didn't change much though. :)

Francene Stanley I really like the concept of where our soul goes after death. It's the age-old question, and one that divides religion and science.
So , you write by the seat of your pants? You work out the basic principle of where you want the plot to go and then fill in the details?
Are there more books to come in the series?

LOL.. yes I do. For some unknown reason I find it easier. :) I have two more books in the series. :)
