I'm not a fan of the Halo video game franchise. I've tried my hand at it a few times and didn't care for what it had to offer. However, I did think Master Chief was pretty cool.

For quite a while I've seen the Halo books and considered picking one up to try. But I've always thought back to my poor experience with the game. Enter my buddy Tony. We were talking about books and he mentioned reading the Halo series. He had a lot of good things to say about it. So, I considered giving them a try. Then low and behold, I came across the three books in a used book store, so I snatched them up.

What I found is that I LOVE the story of Halo. There is plenty of action along with some cool characters. If I get mad when one of the characters dies, the author's done a good job.

Anyway, if you like scifi, this is a good easy read with some cool characters and battles.

Jeff French | 3 comments I'm reading 'WISHBONE...Be Careful What You Wish For' by Brooklyn Hudson. I'm about 40% done. So far it's pretty interesting and a little weird.

Sometimes a little weird makes for a good book. You'll have to let us know your thoughts once your done.

I'm also reading a 36 book series by William Johnstone. It's his Ashes series. It's a post-apocaliptic series about a man named Ben Raines. I like the balance of action and character he brings to the table.

Here's a link with a little more about the series:

J.W. Bradley (JWBradley) | 2 comments I too was surprised by the expansive Halo mythos and have really enjoyed the books more than I expected. It's funny to see other people's similar experiences.

You have a lot more respect for Master Chief after you see what he's had to endure.
