Vampire Academy Lovers discussion

Hey guys! So it's official! Vampire Academy has a cast and a director :) The movie though, is not called Vampire Academy, its called Blood Sisters.

So what do you think? Are you excited?

I'm thrilled beyond relief. I've been following the progress on the movie since the book rights were purchased in 2010 and thought the movie wasn't going to happen because there was no news on anything happening with the movie until the end of last year.

I love the choices they made for the lead characters. Can't wait to see who they cast for the rest of the characters. Too bad Adrian and Sydney aren't in the first book too. I'm dying to know who will play them.

same! I need to know who is playing Adrian ASAP!

I'm dying to figure out who Mason will be! If they screw him up I'll start a riot, I swear I will!

Jumping for joy! OMG a movie I knew it,so knew it from the start but now its real :) Can't wait to see who plays Dimitri and Adrian!

I was so happy when I found out they are making a VA Movie, Did you saw the Cast? If yes what you think about the Actors choices?

yea, Lucy Fry is not the face I imagined for Lissa.

but in truth Im just glad its not Amanda Seyfried or another big Hollywood name.
Im hoping with so many unknowns playing the leading roles it won't become another Twilight disaster.

i guess the only thing i can say ryt now for the movie on my fav series is finger crossed

I agree that the Lissa character isn't the perfect casting for how I pictured her, but Rose and Dimitri are perfect I think. I am so excited!

it is, but they changed the name because they didnt want it to be a cliche with all the vampire movies.. this way it sounds more interesting

lol it seems so! I love who they casted for Rose and Dimitri but i am a little disappoint on Lissa and Christian.. and Mia! she isnt supposed to have short hair!

I honestly have low expectations for the movie due to the cast. I love the books so much that I am terrified of them being tarnished and destroyed by the movie.

I think the Cast is great. I think we all had different images from what we read but really they're sticking close to Richelle and she's helping them. I think they'll do it justice, they know exactly how devoted and invested the VA fanbase is.

I like the way all the cast aren't very popular because this movie will make them! I do have high expectations but I'm also well aware that it might be very different from the book. I'm still super excited

I'm kinda afraid because it seems a lot of people don't even know that it's going to be a movie. I just hope it's going to be a success ( we have a beautiful cast, how couldn't it be a succes ). The problem is just on V-day two YA movie will hit the Cinema : VA and Maze Runner. Well we will see. Hopefully we will get a 2nd Movie because I really need to know who is going to potray Adrian :)

Yes!!! Im praying that the movie is successful enough to earn a second movie because even though I love Rose & Dimitri - Adrian is my absolute favorite & Im dying to know who they'd get to play him.

If they completely stuff up this movie...cut pieces out that they shouldn't have...completely botch up the acting etc. then me and my friend said we'd gather a bunch of true VA fans and film it ourselves...with professional help of course ;P

Anyone see the movie yet??? I am in love with it. It stayed really close to the book. Rose and Dimitri were cast perfectly.

It won't be in the theaters in Denmark until June :( It really sucks. I hope I won't be too disappointed.

I saw the movie and I liked if and I think that it was pretty close I mean they did change some things but overall it was amazing.

The cast is PERFECT! can't wait to watch it!

It's out in a week in Australia, and I CAN'T FREAKING WAIT! Omg I am so excited. I'm sad though that it isn't doing so well. Because if it doesn't, then there's no Frostbite. And if there's not Frostbite, there's no Adrian. OMG!

Just saw it and OMFG it was amazing!!! I just want to crawl into bed and think about - and watch it like a billion more times! The cast was perfect and the advertising it didn't express what it's really about. Like, I'm not saying it was perfect, but it was damn well near perfect. Omg I am So seeing it again!

Have fun!! We fangirled and screamed ( mostly in Dimitri and Christina Scenes haha) and annoyed a couple of people - but it was so fun!! Like the beginning is a little rushed, but other than that I enjoyed it!!

I SAW IT!!!!!!! OMG IT WAS AMAZING AND SO TRUE TO THE BOOK (with the exception of a mild strigoi attack at the stat to help explain to non-readers the 3 different types of vampires) AND THE FORESHADOWING OMG THERE WAS SO MANY FEELS FOR FORESHADOWING AND THEY WERE ALL BRILLIANT AND AMAZING!!!! AND DOMINIC SHERWOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AT BEING CHRISTIAN HE HAD EVERYTHING RIGHT!!!!!
AND ROSE AND LISSA WERE AWESOME FRIENDS TOGETHER AND THE SASS FROM ROSE OH MY GOSH AMAZING ALSO!!!!!!

Haha right there with you @Rene ! And there was a lot of foreshadowing! When Lissa had that strigoi dream I was like 'nooooooooooo' that was sad.

Just amazing!!! Everything I could have envisioned all I wanted to do is come home and read the series again!!! Dimitri and rose were perfect!! All i did was fall in love with them all over again. A little disappointed there was no Eddie.. But I can't remember now how much he was in the first book. But definitely stayed true to the book!
