John Arnold His playing is too "sweet sounding" for me. I like someone like Elmore James (except he plays the same song over and over again). Or how about Lightnin' Hopkins or, maybe best of all, Howlin' Wolf? If I had to bring some blues music to a desert island it would not be BB King. I find him to be a yawn. Miss. John Hurt---I like the softer countryish folkier blues like that as well. But there are so many blues guys (and a few women) you could go on and on listing them. For some reason BB King has a big, familiar name---maybe because he played shows with psychedelic rock bands in the 60s so got a lot of exposure.

Ed Wagemann (edwagemann) | 1013 comments I’ve never heard BB described as sweet sounding before. Very interesting
