Quinn sneered, scaring away a new HYDRA member who had the gall to almost not let him in. He had kept his position a secret unless asked, so most members lower than him-which was almost everybody- didn't know that he was Q, one of the highest of the ranks. It was annoying as heck sometimes, and playing all fun and smiles in S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't do him any good. He had thrown away his glasses the minute he got out of that dreadful place, and fixing his hair up and removing the brown sweater on him. Lighting up the cigarette in his mouth, he poured himself a glass of champagne. Unlike the organization he was in earlier, he was allowed to do anything because HYDRA wasn't strict when it comes to drinking, smoking or anything. Security was far too high for them to be afraid.["br"]>
((Sorry it's so short and he's kind of sounding a lot like Loki right now...))James walked into the building after a night out, bored out of his mind. S.H.I.E.L.D jobs were boring as HYDRA was still underground since the good Captain revealed their existence to the world. What wouldn't he give to have a go at that stupid super solider himself. He wanted power and recognition and he would be damned if that Solider got in the way of their plans for world domination and his plan to take over the untied states- okay now he was starting to sound like Loki which was a bad thing but what was wrong with wanting a bit more power than he had.
((lol it's okay. If you wanna check out how he looks so dif. just check out the profile lol))
As Quinn felt the burning effect of the champagne down his throat, he felt a tiny bit better as he blew off a puff of smoke after every swallow of the alcoholic liquid. It was his number one bad combination of habits, and he had no intention of changing. Just when he was finishing his first glass, however, he eyed a very familiar face. James. That member who's gotten into S.H.I.E.L.D. as well. James was of lower rank, like mostly everyone else, so the guy didn't know that he was a HYDRA infiltrate as well. He never really did like having his face known, but oh well. "Yo James." He greeted, leaning backwards with a cigarette and a glass of champagne on hand. He wondered if the guy would recognize him immediately, with all his S.H.I.E.L.D. 'qualities' thrown away. No glasses. No geeky outfit. No messy hair, all replaced with slickness. He looked the complete opposite of how James knew him as. "What team are you in, in S.H.I.E.L.D.?"
((Okay :) ))James jumped a little at hearing someone call him by his first name. The product of being in S.H.I.E.L.D when they were all referred to as Agent this and Agent that. He hated the formality of it all but put up with it because it was his chance to get Hydra to trust him, so he could make it all the way to the top, not the level below the top which was what he was now. "Hello," he said turning. He was trying to place the guy as something about him seemed familiar but he didn't recall meeting him before. He shook it off and decided to focus on answering the other agents question even through it worried him, how he knew he worked in S.H.I.E.L.D. " I work solo missions at the moment, through I'm going to put in for a transfer." he replied.
Well, Quinn and James weren't close friends in S.H.I.E.L.D. but he was pretty sure he sees the guy almost everyday of his stay there. It was good to know his difference in looks was very good, because he would have been insulted if James recognized him too fast as that four-eyed agent in Team One. He blew off another puff of smoke, surveying the lower-ranked guy. James wasn't half bad, since he did infiltrate S.H.I.E.L.D.. "That's great to know." He stated, swirling the champagne in his glass. "If you ever get stuck in a situation, or on the brink of getting found out, just tell me. I'm always in the communications line." He advised, sipping his drink again. "I mean, we're not close but you can make some excuse for contact." He was just good in acting, really. No agent in S.H.I.E.L.D. would ever catch him drinking or smoking. He was all smiles and help all day there, so no one would really suspect if the two of them suddenly talked a lot more. Maybe it was why James didn't recognize him. He always did gave everyone that supposedly awkward kind smile. No kind Quinn here now, though. Just Q.
James was still trying to work out who this guy was and it frustrated him no end that he couldn't. How was he supposed to get to the top if his power of deduction was that bad? "Thank you for the offer, I may take you up on it especially considering the person on the end of my comm's is an idiot with no sense of direction," he said shaking his head. How they had got into S.H.I.E.L.D he would never know as most of the agents had some form of intelligence. James wasn't a decent actor but he didn't have to be. He just had to hide his psychotic side and all was good. "Of course but I'm afraid I don't know who you are inside S.H.I.E.L.D," he admitted putting the information to one side. It wasn't info on his enemy but any information could be useful.
"It's me." Quinn said, almost snorting. He really didn't like introducing himself and revealing he's in S.H.I.E.L.D. but a fellow HYDRA agent would be nice to have there, even if he could simply just order somebody else to be his company or partner there. Pretty easy, with his rank. "It's Quinn. The agent Harttman that you pass by at least once a day. I think we talked already a few times, can't remember what boring stuff we talked about. I handle the tech things in Team One in S.H.I.E.L.D." He explained, placing the now-empty glass of champagne on the table. Refilling it with the cigarette on his hand, he turned back to James. "Totally unexpected, no?" He asked, not a trace of the kind smile he usually wears when in the company of a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. He was still weighing if he should reveal his status as Q, one of the owners of the highest rank. After all, one revelation was fair enough.
"Wait the geeky guy? God you look so different, through I suppose that's a good thing if your cover is ever blown as they won't be able to find you unless they look twice and they aren't exactly very good at that." he said kind of amazed at the transformation from geek into well- this. "And yes it is kind of unexpected through now you mention it, I can pick out the similarities between your appearances." he said thinking about what the man looked like both in his S.H.I.E.L.D role and Hydra role. He kind of wished he could blend in like that but he would give himself away every time. He was better at hiding in plain sight.
Geeky was a perfect word, and Quinn prided himself over the fact that he was always willingly changing his entire look just to look inconspicuous and nerdy. It was the complete opposite of his personality. "Of course there will be similarities, that geeky guy's me. High-maintenance too." He added, before swallowing another gulp of champagne, his cigarette between his fingers. "Did you know that no one's allowed to smoke in the tech room? It's frustrating and annoying. Couple up with the fact I can't crack the system since they'll know where the hack's coming from." He explained, savoring the feeling of getting slowly into the state of being tipsy. He doesn't get drunk easily, anyway. "And having to get along with team mates. Their training ain't half-bad, but their security is lacking so big. We're not the only ones in S.H.I.E.L.D."
James shrugged at the comment. He knew that now, it wasn't his fault he didn't before- he dealt mainly in fighting not spying and observation. Through if needed to he supposed he could. " We're the only ones in the ranks that are anywhere close to infiltrating the higher clearance levels. The others are all clearance one or two." he said. Through he knew there may be more higher up and he just hadn't been told about it which frustrated him no end.
((sorryy late reply))
"I highly doubt it." Quinn said, still smoking, smirking a bit. James just wasn't informed. Since he is on the top ranks, he knew there were others who managed to infiltrate the enemy organization the same way they did. Although, perhaps, he was one of the few that no one will ever truly suspect. He was trusted so much that he was drafted into Team One. Being in a team and working with the agents was a very good thing he takes advantage of. The high-ranking agents trusts him and usually talks about cases in chit-chats. "We're only a few though, since some are on our front lines, dealing with those agents up-front. Anyway, I gotta move. Can't be away from S.H.I.E.L.D. too long. People will notice." He said, walking away with his glass of champagne and cigarette. He was just going to smash the glass somewhere on his way to S.H.I.E.L.D., as usual, before taking a bath and styling up his whole self.
"Goodbye then. I'll see you around," James replied as he was supposed to be on a mission but he completed it a few days ago, so he was enjoying some time off before returning to S.H.I.E.L.D himself. He hoped for another mission as soon as he got back as he hated spending unnecessary amount of time with those idiots. Even through Shield had been rebuilt it was still full of spies and the idiots didn't even know it. James had heard rumours in the grape vine about promotions in hydra and wondered if the other agent knew anything about it because promotions seemed to only happen for one reason- someone was a spy for S.H.I.E.L.D and they had been caught. He didn't envy their punishment that was for sure.
