Nope, technically May--the book is supposed to release on Tuesday, Apr 28, but some of us will get it the week before.
If anyone wants to add a book to the hat drawing, do it soon! I will be drawing the next book in about a week.
Sadly I have not yet gotten my copy of Hollow Kingdom--trying to be a good girl with the homework and school kind of thing!

How come The Magicians' Guild is too long? Do you mean because it's a whole series, or the first book is too long?
On second thought, I would kind of agree, because by the end of book one, you're left with so many questions you pretty much have to read the next two. It's more like one really, really, really long book split up into three books. : D But they are excellent. Though by that standard I think The Naming is fairly long as well.
Not next month, but sometime down the road...is anyone interested in reading/discussing "Monstrous Regiment" by Terry Pratchett???I think our group might be fun people to discuss it with! It is a humorous book on the surface, but deep down there is more to it--as in all Pratchett books. It has a lot to say about war, gender roles, propaganda, nationalism, etc. etc.
What about A Curse Dark as Gold? I've heard it's supposed to be a good read. I think it won the ALA best YA book of the year award last year (which I think Goose Girl won as well??) And having it as a monthly read might encourage it out of my to-read stack haha.
I loved A Curse as Dark as Gold.. Bones of Faerie is next on my list to read after some books for school, too bad I can't second. Here are some other suggestions:
Wondrous Strange
Tiger Moon
Good Omens The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch
Oooh. Those sound good. I'd like to add this one too. The Serpent Garden I've read another one of her books, The Oracle Glass A Novel and it was excellent.

I love Terry Pratchet - he's come up with YA books that I've been trying to con my kids into writing - but so many of them just want the vampiric stuff and the real-life fiction. I think when I worked in a very small, rural community in upstate NY the kids there were interested in real-life novels, but also had a healthy interest in fantasy and science fiction. Maybe being isolated like that does something to you.
Do you guys want to switch to a poll? I was picking the title by putting all of the suggestions on pieces of paper and then throwing them in a container and fishing one out at random. I can put up a poll, but probably not this weekend. I have the Twilight dvd launch, and inventory, and Educator Savings Week all at once (not to mention Eric Carle party tomorrow. Brain = Explode).
Hm. Isn't that how we started out? Now I can't remember. I wouldn't mind a poll. But if other people prefer the hat.. that works too. The hat got me my suggestion for March. Hmmmmm. If the hat is easier for you Alethea it's fine. Maybe we should make a poll about having a poll haha. I'm a dork today.
I like drawing from a hat. We did the poll the first time, but I was just discouraged to see the book I wanted not get as many votes. : D So I say leave it to chance. hee hee

I just wanted to check in to see if we've picked our April read yet. I may have missed it somewhere along the line. : )
