It had been a wet rainy, awfully humid day, and yet it had seemed that she wasn't getting wet at all; later on she had been hiding in her favorite tree, an old willow that hung over one of the many ponds in the Wilds, when one of her younger brothers came from behind her and pushed her into the water, she had gasped and expected to be completely submerged in the muddy water, instead, the water split and rolled up onto each bank, so that she could land on dry ground. It had completely shocked her and her little brother, who fell out of the tree in amazement. After she had climbed out of the pond hole, The water had splashed back to its regular level. Then she had raced her brother home to tell their parents. Her dad was surprised; he had expected her to be an earth-manipulator, like him. Her mother had thought Naina would be a fire-bender, like herself, as they shared the same flaming red hair. Her brothers were overcome with jealousy, as their gifts had not yet manifested.
Naina smiled at the recollection. She walked around the room exploring, it was breathtakingly beautiful; with sea green walls patterned as if currents rippled through them, the dark blue ceilings were intersperse with light patches, as if looking up from the ocean floor, the window ledges had bowls full of undersea plants and colorful corals instead of flowers, the chairs were shaped like differently shaped shells with watery blue silk covering them. By one of the walls of the circular room, were overflowing bookshelves and cupboards stacked with, interestingly, roast chicken, along with seafood of course. She sighed, in love with the room already.
Then Naina turned from examining the sapphire and emerald incrusted door to the chair she had sat in previously, an oyster shape stuffed with, what seemed to be a sort of sponge, it was very soft and springy at the same time. She settled down with one of the interesting books she had found in the bookshelves and proceeded to loose herself in a world were everyone lived under the sea.
((Good, except... no one has a power to start out with. :P They're all normal until they're taught. :P ))
((Nobody has powers to start out with. That's why they're coming to the academy, to learn how to manipulate an element. I think that's in the description.))

((Agh, *face palm* I totally forgot...))
((Haha, that's fine! Since Cadence is seventeen, she already has some experience with her powers though. 2 years of training under her belt.))

Kelia sat down on one of the couches. "Is it going to sound utterly disloyal if I say fire's just as good of a power? Because it is." Of course, she might've been biased; her father was a fire-wielder, after all.

Kelia nodded. "It is an excellent gift." She twirled a strand of hair around her index finger. "How've you been- Naina, right?"

Naina rambled on about her experiment, then stopped suddenly, and turned slightly pink.
"I'm awfully sorry if I've bored you, I just get really caught up sometimes..." She smiled, "And I haven't even asked, what do you like to do?

Naina yawned slightly, "Come to think of it, I'm getting a bit puckish."
She stood, and walked over to the snack cabinet, "Would you like something from here?"
((I'm waiting for my other character to be approved before she goes to the M.H, I totally ship them! You'll see.:))

"What, I thought you were down here an hour ago? Get hungry again?" Naina teased.
"Pssh, naw--well yeah! I'm a growing guy, can you blame me?" Thorn pretended offense.
"Oohh, so it's you who's been eating all of our snacks! I thought it would be boy." Naina put on her I-thought-so face.
"Hey! I'm a man, k?" Thorn fake frowned at her.
"Oh yes, seahorses are soo manly." Naina motioned at the figurine he was holding and giggled.
"Ugh whatever." He flopped down on one of the many couches in the room.
"Not hungry anymore?" Naina laughed and stood, "Hey Kelia, I'm going to the Main House now, still wanna come?"

"I guess I'd better go over too, seeing as the Headmistress is going to give the 'welcome back' speech." Thorn hauled himself out of his couch and trailed after Naina.

Naina furtively looked over her shoulder, "Agh! He's behind me!" She thought and hurried over to her favorite seat in the lounge to go through this years bulletin.
Thorn came in shortly after Naina and took a seat across from her, determined to wring the truth from her.
"Hey Naina can I talk to you?"
She started and looked up at him, "Darn! Why does he have to be so nice and cute and--wait stop brain! I don't think of him like that!" Naina shook herself mentally.
"Yes, what you do need?" She tried to smile pleasantly.
"I was just curious, haven't I seen you somewhere besides here?" Thorn asked.
"Oh, um maybe I just have one of those faces, you know, the kind that's similar to other faces..." She trailed off and cringed inwardly.
"No I don't think so, your face is unique and pretty and unforgettable, Uh what I mean to say is, um er yeah." He stuttered.
"Aw thanks. If you really want to know, I was in the Wilds last summer." Naina grinned at his discomfort.
"That's it! What were you doing there?" Thorn raised his eyebrows.
"Well what were you doing there?" Naina put on her most petulant expression.
"It doesn't matter!" He reddened, and when he saw Naina's begging face, he gave in and said
"I'd heard a rumor about a water fairy with red hair who was living in the Wilds and could grant a wish if you caught her. Happy?"
Naina laughed, a bubbly laugh like water flowing down a brook. "And you thought I was the fairy?" She giggled and said, "Well that's explains your monkey-like countenance when you saw me in the tree.
He laughed, "Well now I think of it, it was pretty silly. Thanks for clearing that up." He stood and left for the boys dorm, leaving Naina to her bulletin.
