Danielle (daniellecg) God I'm an emotional wreck right now. This book had the worst ending I could think of, even though it was so obvious what was going to happen, it still hurts like hell. I have lost someone to cancer and I was reliving half of those feelings and it just hurts to know people's lives have to end like that.
His death was very beautiful though, with the stars/meteor shower and then peacefully when he was sleeping that he stopped breathing.
This book hit me right in the heart but I'm glad I picked it up. Morgan Matson knows how to never dissapoint me!
I really liked the story of how Henry and Taylor met, in the woods. That's just really cute and I'm not even sure why, it just is :).
This whole situation must have been so bad for the whole family and grandpa too, like it's so hard for them to go through things like that.
Lucy and Henry are such great friends. Taylor is so lucky to have friends like that!
Taylor's speech at the funeral was really beautiful. I'm glad her dad taught her to not run away when things get too hard. It made her apologise to Henry and I was really hoping for that. She just really needed him and they're just meant to be together <3.
I really like the idea of the letters. I think it's a beautiful way of still being there with them on earth and not just looking over them in heaven. Now they get the support from their dad they need on the most important days of their lives.
I think it's really nice too that her dad has a marker in Lake Phoenix, it's such a beautiful thing.
Even though this ending made me very emotional (I actually think this is the first book ever to make me cry) I still really loved this book. Morgan Matson never fails to suprise me!
