That is so cool, Jaye! Wow! How did you convince them to let you volunteer for them? :)I love Christian music festivals. We have one that we go to every summer that's a few states away, which is super fun. I've seen tons and tons of bands, but I tend not to appreciate them very much until after the concert. You feel me?
I love I Am They, Lauren Daigle, JJ Heller, and other folk-y pop bands. But. I also like TobyMac, Unspoken, Hillsong, Tenth Avenue North, and Anthem Lights. I have a varied taste in music... And I like to do covers of *all* the songs. :P

The first time we heard on the radio that they needed volunteers for a local concert, and the second time they posted on Facebook that they needed them for a nearby music festival. :)
Music festivals are fun. My brothers and I bought reserved seating for the one we're going to in July. I can hardly wait. :D

Too many to list (we're going to Lifest) but I'm most looking forward to seeing Skillet, Jeremy Camp, and Kutless. Camping out is always fun too. :)
Ooh! That sounds fun! I think I'll be going to SoulFest (thesoulfest.com) this August. I'm looking forward to seeing For King & Country, Moriah Peters, The Newsboys, Tenth Avenue North, Unspoken, etc. :DDD haha.
*ahem* I'm going to be totally different from normal and actually stick my neck out to be chopp... Er, I mean to share the artists/music I like. I usually don't because nobody knows them (or very few do), but I do and I don't know most of the people y'all have listed. So here goes (in no particular order):Christian:
Steve Green
Instrumental (very few, if any drums)
Classical:
Pretty much any composer, but especially the following
Franz Schubert
Ludwig van Beethoven
Johann Sebastien Bach
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Peter Tchaikovsky
Frederic Chopin
Edward Greig
Nicolai Rimsky-Korsikov
Other people know Steve Green? Awesome! Nicolai Rimsky-Korsikov's name could be slightly misspelled, but he is a slightly newer classical composer. He wrote "The Flight of the Bumblebee." I think that's probably one of his most famous pieces.
Amanda wrote: "I grew up on Steve Green's "Hide 'em In Your Heart" kids music. :P"I love those! We still sing them!
(By the way, having two "Amandas" is really confusing!)Amanda with the little brother, mind does, too! He calls Steve Green "My guy." It's adorable.
Other Amanda, Not everybody knows the composers names to all the songs out there. Even me and I know more than most probably do.
"Other Amanda" xD I suppose it is confusing, my apologies. But it's Goodreads' fault for only showing the first name. Oh well, that's what the pictures are for I suppose.I still haven't figured out how to use the reply feature to reply to more than one message...if someone knows how that would be useful in this situation as well!
C.B. wrote: "Just hit reply for each of them. It's so weird. Sometimes you'll have to switch them around."...Oh. That really does work. Wow. I never would've guessed. *facepalm* Thanks!
MUSIC!Okay, so I grew up on Celtic music and then "met" Skillet and recently discovered all the Christian pop/rock music.
Favorite Celtic bands:
Gaelic Storm
Old Blind Dogs
Capercaillie
The High Kings
Newly discovered favorites:
Colton Dixon (He's my favorite music artist right now. His song "More of You"... *happy sigh*)
Skillet
Casting Crowns
The Afters
And, you know, everyone else too of course... But those are the best!

Um, what does volunteered mean?
THAT'S AWESOME ABOUT THE BUS AND THE SONG.
The Ilyon cast needs to hear B429's new song 'Impossible'. XD
Stargazer wrote: "Um, what does volunteered mean?"
We helped them set up and worked their merchandise tables. :)

@Stargazer- I was reading your list of "newly discovered favorites" literally at the very moment my brother was playing "More of You" xDAnd YES. I love Celtic music too, but I'm more individual song-likey with that than artists.
That "Impossible" song though...I mean, I don't dislike it, exactly, it just...sounds really, really different from their more usual style. Although I guess "Press On" was kind of in between. For some reason the new one just makes me think of 80s. This is crazy because um, I was not alive in the 80s and have not listened to 80s music, it's just what popped into my head the first time I heard it. *facepalm* The second thing was almost as crazy... I was like, "It also sounds like a VBS song."
...Yeah, who knows.
@Amanda with the blue shirt: If you're brother was playing "More of You" that means you guys OWN it. *drools* I currently can only hear it whenever the radio plays it... And the one time I saw/heard it live. :DGo Celtic! :D Yes, sometimes an artist only has one or two good songs, but the ones I mentioned are the best in my opinion. :)
My sister HATES "Impossible" because it's so catchy and the style's weird. She makes me turn the radio off whenever it comes on. XD And I do agree it's a bit weird, but I like it and the words need to be battered into Jace's and Kyrin's heads.
@Amanda with the honey colored hair: I don't think I've heard Press On... How do you do covers?
(Sorry if you two don't like the "tags" I gave you. I think of people online as what their picture is and only use names when I'm talking to them, so... :P)
Haha! @Stargazer:I meant, I made a video of singing and playing Press On in the style that Building 429 does it. It wasn't professional by ANY stretch, but I had fun. In a hotel room. After a wedding. With my cousin.

Wow, cool! Is that like too personal or is it up somewhere where I could look at it?
It was on my aunt's FB about a year ago. She posts A TON, so it might take two weeks to find it. However, I could probably do much better now. If I wind up putting a new one on YouTube, then I will let you know!

And no actually we don't own it, it was a YouTube video. ;) The artists put a lot of their songs on YouTube these days, you should try that.

Oh! Micheal Card! YES! I grew up with his music too, but I didn't mention him because I didn't think you guys would know who he is. :P
Celtic music!!! I didn't even know there was such a thing. What would be the top songs you (Stargazer and Amanda) would suggest listening to? Oh, I went to a concert a our church (like six years ago), I think it was the band Fee, anyways the drummer threw his drumsticks and one of them hit my shoulder! I think it funny now, but I was so mad then. Then I started thinking, what if the drummer knocked someone out? Or hit an older person? That would just be sad to say you were knocked out/hurt by a Christian band. *laughing*
@Gabs: Haha! That's funny about the drumsticks! Yeah, it would be horrible. XD Wait you didn't know about Celtic music? This must be fixed! Let me see... One thing you need to know is most Celtic music is sad. :P But it's beautiful! When they sing in Gaelic it's awesome. Here's one in Gaelic:

This is a beautiful melody:

(By the way, you always have the coolest profile pics. :D )
@Celtic music convo: Here's a few of my favorites. And they all have weird names, so ignore them. xDChanter's Tune: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBTsG...
Eel in the Sink: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNM2J...
The Buzzard: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjkK8...
Some Polkas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIBH7...

Thanks Stargazer!! I like changing my profile picture (a lot *winks*). Alright, I'll have to look into these.

I'm so glad some of you know Michael Card!!! I grew up really only listening to him, we have all his albums!! :) Some other favorites of mine now are For King and Country, Kutless, Royal Tailor, Thousand Foot Krutch, and Tenth Avenue North.
Yes, Micheal Card is great. :) FOR KING AND COUNTRY IS AWESOME! And Kutless! And everything else you mentioned. :D
Piano Guys are awesome. I like Murray Gold, John Williams, Howard Shore, James Newton Howard, Harry Gregson-Williams, Hans Zimmer, Alan Menken...
Murray Gold for Doctor Who!!! Yes, and any superhero/Lord of the Rings/Hobbit/Pirates of the Caribbean/Doctor Who soundtrack.
PIANO GUYS!!!!Heheh, sorry. Yes.
If we're naming soundtracks, I positively adore The Prince of Egypt's. Haven't watched it, but How to Train Your Dragon has a pretty awesome one too. Same with Robin Hood.
Amanda wrote: Same with Robin Hood"Robin Hood??? Ooo... Which Robin Hood? I've recently watched the Robin Hood movie with Russel Crowe as Robin Hood.

And yes, I've volunteered for Building 429 twice. That's how I got to go on their tour bus, which was amazing. And they played a song for us that wasn't releasing for over a year. They are my favorite band, so it was pretty cool.
My other favorites are Skillet, Aaron Shust, Jeremy Camp, Ashes Remain, and Kutless. I've been blessed enough to see all of them (except Ashes Remain) in concert at least once. And I've seen many others thanks to Christian music festivals and some nearby concerts over the years.
So who are your favorites?
