Thoughts on the book...

Kayla Hutchinson (kaylahutchinson) | 42 comments Really liking the book so far! I'm a little more than halfway through. I'm trying to wrap my head around the "burning" of metals. Can someone explain to me how exactly they do that? I think I just missed the explanation somewhere, but now I'm totally confused. I know WHY they burn the metals, I just don't understand WHERE the metals are coming from and what "burning" entails.

HELP.

Daniel | 85 comments It's really just their process of using up the metal to fuel their power. I sort of explain it in my head as controlled digestion. But that is really a wrong analogy because the main guy makes the point of telling his protege that she should really burn up any remaining metals at the end of the night because some of them can be toxic if really digested.

Daniel | 85 comments Oh they are coming metals the have actually eaten. Either trace metals in the water or food or later they drink prepared vials of small bits of metal suspended in an alcohol solution.
