This post is for our members to request a buddy read and help plan a start date for that buddy read. Request away!

This may be a stupid question, but what is a buddy read and how does it work?

~ Buddy Style Reads ~

A “Buddy Read” has a discussion leader and a reading date is set to start the book. A reading schedule is posted prior to the start date and discussion questions are posted each day regarding that section of the book.

A “Relaxed Buddy Read” is similar to our usual “buddy reads” except there are less questions and break points. For example, a book may be split into three sections and those reading the book should pause at the end of the section to answer some discussion questions, make comments, or ask their own questions to other readers.

Is this where we can sign up for the buddy read?

Yes you request what book you are looking to read for the buddy read

Also wrote if you want to be a leader. A leader will be responsible for creating the reading schedule and questions

I'll buddy read Smoke and Bones, Under the Never Sky and Falling Kingdom's with you. :)

I don't think I'll be able to do more than that in 2 months but if you want to wait until after I'll do some of the others too.

Let me know the dates and what you want to start with. Any is fine with me!

which books would you like to buddy read? I am open pretty much all summer. I'm also open to a lot of books that aren't on my list here.

Any specific date in mind?

I'm pretty flexible. I figured for the Spellcaster books and Falling Kingdom we could read book 1 together and if we like it we can read the next one.


Dates I'm open in June are: 2,3,4,6,7,8,9,12,13,16,18,20,23,25,27,28,29, and 30.

I would prefer some of the later days just because I will have to request a copy from my library.

I do have plenty of dates open in July too.

How about June 25th for Falling Kingdoms & July 5th for Spellcaster?

I'll read Under The Never Sky and then we can buddy read the last 2 in July.

Anyone need a buddy read? I have been in a reading slump and feel like a buddy read may help me get out of it.

It's a big book and I'm moving soon so I want to wait until Im settled to read that one.
