I'm playing a little with the rule this week, as I already read several books about places I'm interested in and wanted a place more on the dreamy side. So, I'll go to Neverland :D

As I already read Peter Pan in a translated version, I'll try in english this time. It's a good opportunity to learn more about the book and the author, so I chose The Annotated Peter Pan which is really gorgeous. I'm looking forward to read it!

Grace Meredith (koreantrash) That sounds wonderful, Zaz! I believe I've already read Peter Pan (don't remember too much) but I hope you enjoy it.

Katie (ktmac_1) I am reading it too! If you ever watch the television show "Once Upon A Time," there is a great interpretation of the characters, Peter Pan and Captain Hook, in season three. They are reversed in their protagonist and antagonist roles. An interesting twist on a great story.

Biana What a fun twist! Thanks for your creativity!

Bana AZ (anabana_a) | 414 comments I really liked this book. I like reading/knowing about stories that I originally saw as Disney versions. They're such eye-openers because of the differences.

Yes, there are some huge difference between the book, the Disney anime and some of the movies! The Disney version is definitely not my favorite (too much on the exciting and happy adventure?), the 1924 and 2003 movies did very well with the atmosphere. I'm very curious about the movie scheduled for this year, I haven't read the series dedicated to the "before", I hope it won't be disappointing.

The Annotated book has some interesting informations, I liked the biography about Barrie and the drawings are great. For the story part, I think I memorized the most important/moving moments of Peter Pan, so no big surprise, I'm enjoying it very much and the magic is still there :)
