It was overwhelming. Experiment A was entirely overwhelmed by the large place he found himself in. Yelling, shouting people walking by, shoving anyone who strayed in their way, loud metal things zipping back and forth on strange black stone, so much noise, Experiment A, as he'd had beaten into him to go by, had his hands pressed firmly against his ears to try and muffle the noise as he dashed wildly around through the crowd, desperate to find some respite from the noise before he lost it. Clinging to his back was his newest and only possession, a stuffed animal he found in a garbage can while looking for food. Able to bring it to life rather easily due to its small size, the doll had quickly become his companion that he took with him everywhere despite the smell, after all he didn't smell to great either after searching through dumpsters for the garbage he's always been fed in the past....or rather had thrown at him....
Finally finding a small side alley, he ducked down it and was welcomed with the sounds being muffled slightly. Lowering his hands, he moved to pull his toy off his back and sit down with his back to the wall, setting it down in his lap and looking at it. He wasn't sure what to do, to be entirely honest. He knew it wasn't safe to trust anyone, but that meant that he was without any real shelter unless he slept in one of the large metal bins that the garbage was in. And while rat's did not unduly bother him, after all he could turn into the same thing with concentration, the smell would overwhelm him pretty fast, and he was worried about falling asleep in there and having it get picked up by the weird metal things and dumped inside the green one to get crushed into tiny bits.
Curling in on himself until there were less people, his mind couldn't stop from straying to the places he'd escaped from, barely getting out by the skin of his teeth again and again, making him unsure of if he could ever trust others again, he knew that those who were not mutants would hurt him given the chance, and he couldn't dare think to trust them, not after what they'd done.

Chris walked down the street, the aftertaste of the fruit salad he had recently had still lingering in his mouth. He walked close to his sister, keeping a watchful eye of the people around them. Both twins were... uncomfortable... around people, to say the least, but Chris was slightly less uncomfortable in public settings. That is to say, he still quite disliked other people, and being around tons still made him feel like glaring a hole through the crowds, but since they had recently walked out of a relatively quiet store, his patience hadn't worn out quite yet. Hearing his sister's thoughts on the woman in front of them, he couldn't help but agree, but it was more like a quiet telepathic nod, nothing very loud. At the moment, he was too busy staring at a group of boys smoking a little ways ahead.
They were just so stupid. Whats even the point of smoking? All it does is ruin your health in the long run, and from what he had heard, it didn't even taste good. In Chris's opinion, people were far too obsessed with their social status. He and Cassie for instance, hardly even talked to other people, and yet they were happy enough. Well, for the most part anyway. But there they were, probably ruining their lives so they could impress their friends. Chris just didn't get it. People in general came off as idiots to Chris, so he just tried to avoid thinking about them whenever possible.
When his Cassie's hand slipped into his, he wasn't even vaguely surprised. First of all, it was a known fact, at least to them, that she hated this kind of crowded noisy setting. And second of all, he could read her mind. Her actions were known to him basically the second they were known to her. Of course, if he didn't bother reading her mind then he wouldn't know, but her usually kept a small part of his mind on her thoughts at all times, alerting him whenever she thought something important to him. He let himsel be dragged into a side alley, and gave a silent sigh of relief, glad to be away from the focus of all the noise.
Chris gazed around the alley, but when she offered him some grapes, his attention snapped back to her. "Yeah, tha-" He had been about to remove his hand from hers and take a grape, but suddenly he sensed another mind present. He hadn't seen anyone standing around before, but now that he was focusing the presense was unmistakable. His grip tightened on Cassie's hand, and he sent her a telepathic warning that someone was nearby, although she probably already knew by then. "Who's there?" He called out, his voice mostly emotionless with only a hint of wariness. Chris thought he saw a body over sitting against a wall, but it wasn't light enough in that area for him to make out anything exact.
Experiment A had finally started to fall asleep when he heard a voice. Immediately, he tensed, panic at being found flooding his mind, fear of being caged and abused again because he was different making him curl in on himself, hugging his doll tight as he moved to peek around the dumpster he was behind with wide eyes full of fear. He didn't want to be taken again, didn't want to be hurt and ignored and alone...
At the same time, he was desperate for comfort, for some form of affection that let him know that he wasn't as alone as he always felt. But how could he do that when people had shown that his difference would mark him forever as the object of their abuse? He trembled, feeling the doll in his arms stir in response to his distress. He wasn't sure if he should flee or not, perhaps if he didn't say anything they would go away? He could only hope.
((oh hey, just a heads up, he can't talk very well. He understands some words for the most part but he doesn't really know many words cause he wasn't allowed to talk or anything))
((yeah idk if I mentioned it in his profile or not so I wanted to let y'all know haha. Some words might just fly right over his head though. He recognizes basic words like 'the' and a and so on, but some stuff he won't know. Like telepath, and overwhelming and bluntness and definitely school. but das okay XD he doesn't need to know all the words lol))

Chris was honestly just as annoyed as Cassie, but he simply left it at a sigh. So the boy wouldn't talk yet, that was fine. It wasn't like they couldn't just read his mind. But did they want to read his mind? It would be ever so much easier to just give him the adress of the local police department or something then leave, but would this boy even be able to do that? He seemed pretty... Well, a lot of things. Smelly, dirty, scared, a lot of things, but the question was if dumb was one of them. He supposed if the boy was dumb it would fall onto their shoulders to bring him back to somewhere safe, so someone else could take care of him, but then again, Chris had never really been one for social obligations. Whats the point of pleasing people if they're just going to keep asking more of you and more of you and more of you and never give anything back in return?
Chris was about to probe the boy's mind, but then Cassie already did it and discovered that the filthy boy was also a mutant, like them. Okay then, not the police department, the school. But still, helping him? Who knew what the boy would do once he got to school? He looked harmless on the outside, but who knew what he was like on the inside. For all they knew, he could go to the school and end up being one of the many people who constantly annoyed them about their seclusion from everybody else. Like a raisin cookie that look like chocolate chip cookie. And people wonder why I have trust issues. He shook his head lightly, clearning his thoughts, and dcided to do some of his own research, blocking out the noise of the rest of the city as he explored the boy's mind.
Chris avoided the parts that Cassie already had figured out so that they could get new information, and instead went more into the more detailed parts of his memories. Okay so, wait, he was tested on?! The second Chris entered that part of the mind he was overwhelmed by so many memories all he could make out was a few simple facts. He was tested on, he was a mutant with the ability to animate objects, and he called himself Experiment A. Chris quickly left the area, and soon his thoughts were back to normal, however the little alarm that told him when Cassie was having important thoughts went off and he immediatly focused on her thoughts. He only caught the end, as it seemed like she had begun having these thoughts while he was probing the boy's mind, but he wasn't very surpirsed. Of course, being able to read each other's minds, they knew each other's fears and reoccuring haunting thoughts, and of course, one of the biggest ones for both of them was losing their twin. Chris couldn't even imagine spending a whole day without Cassie, and was about to comfort her and potentially forget about te boy before them, bt before he could do much she snatched her hand away and appraoched the boy. He didn't want to press this any further, as if she thought abut it surely she would realize that that would never happen, but he just sent her a telepathic message anyway. You know I'll never leave you.
He followed behind her shortly after she moved to go sit in front of the boy. He knew Cassie was putting on a brave face right now and doing what was right as a opposed to what she wanted, but he played along, even though honestly those last thoughts of her kind of hurt him. He silently waved and tried to keep his face vaguely interested, even though he wanted to cover his nose. The boy did smell after all, no denying that. When Cassie started talking to him, Chris would have tried to probe his mind for what he was thinking, but then he remembered they were no longer holding hands, so instead he focused on closely monitering the boy's emotions, ready to pull Cassie away at any hint of aggression. Although he was kind of hoping that they might just give him instructions, it didn't seem like that would happen anymore, so he tried to explain the school as best he could while still keeping a close eye- or rather mind- on Teddy's emotions. "The school, um, lemme see... Okay, so, basically, it's this huge place with people like you and us, y'know, mutants with powers, and for the younger mutants, they help us master our powers." He thought for a moment, then decided to go the extra mile and just add in a few more details. "No one hates mutants there, and if you have nowhere else to go, you should probably head there." He finished, finally moving to crouch down beside his twin.
Experiment A....or wait, she said he was called Teddy now? was very confused. He didn't understand all the words they were using and as such, a lot of it simply went right over his head. Being mostly stuck with only himself, there was not many opportunities to actually learn any words, and he'd only picked up on a few of them at the shelter when he was brought there on the two separate times he'd been. But it was not enough to understand and learn all that was said and as such, his vocabulary was heavily stinted and underdeveloped.
The most he understood, and this was after a moment of contemplating their words, was that they were like him and could do stuff that other people couldn't do, though they couldn't do the same things...and something about a place that no one hates that he should go to? He looked a bit confused over their words, and it rang relatively clearly in his mind that his vocabulary did not span and cover all the words used. He hugged his doll close to his chest as he stared at them with big eyes, unsure of most of what they said and thus hesitant to say anything and upset them. He glanced at the little green things that were in a clear thing hesitantly, not sure if she'd really want him to put his hand in there, even he knew that he was dirty and needed to be cleaned somehow with water. "I-I......not.....t-the.....word.....um...." he struggled to piece together his thoughts into words, brow furrowing as he couldn't figure it out.
